The Web site for the 2006 edition has been put on line.
http://www.rilm.fr/
I hope some of the London guys and girls are going to come over for this one as it's "chez moi"
There are two races. An Open of 30km and a marathon reserved for the super fast guys and girls.
As a newbie to racing I'll be entering the open.
Hope to see you there |

Arg ! I didn't event restart the training
Last year Lille was the worst race Ever for me
I promised on that day i'll be back in 2006 in the National category. And I will ! at least for that race (probably the first one of the French inline Cup).
Last year Erika and Xia and Kat were skating in the open race.
See you there

here under is the link to last year topic :

From my experience Open races are actually very open, you can find very fast under 18 years old skaters, and senior (more than 35), plus all the skaters that can't skate a sub 1:25/1:30 on the marathon.
So the front pack is quite fast, but as the race is open to everybody, you can basically find any skater, despite you re the finest skater, you can give it a go, and enjoy the race |

I'll add it to my calendar, but no promises for now.
While the open race is shorter, it still has skaters of high level. The winners last year did 30 km in 55minutes.... (so would do a Marathon in 1h15)
#My time was 1h29

| 1h29 for 30k. That extrapolates to about 2h05 for a marathon. Was it a bad course/did you not get a draft some combination? |

Windy, average surface, not too much drafting as it was my first race and missed most pelotons at the start.
But then, maybe I'm slow?

| Best go back there and kick some bum this year then. I find it hard to leave a race out of my calendar that I know I can do better at. |

I'll be definitely doing this one.
Entry costs €26
I'll travel by car (via Eurotunnel £59) to Lille on Satuday 13th May. Stay overnight (Etap Lille Centre €40 for a double room) Race on the Sunday and return through the tunnel that evening.
So it won't break the bank.
We discussed it at the Wilton on Wednesday and I think that my car is now full. But perhaps we can get one or two more cars over |
