I've been reading this forum for a while but I don't think I ever actually said hello. So, "hello". I've been skating in London since about March 04 (mostly streetskates; have marshalled) and am on serpentineroad.com (with same username), so, yeah, if you think you know some other dan_b it probably is me.
My New Years Resolutions as they relate to skating are (a) skate a marathon, (b) skate a marathon in a time I think is respectable. (Yes, I am fully prepared for this to involve more than two marathons). I was hoping to kick the year off with Mike's Long Slow this evening, but I got as far as New Cross and noticing the weather was cold, raining and slippery, I figured it wouldn't be happening and turned around to go home instead. So, better luck next time. Hope to see you around more in the near future.
(Is the LSST team membership structure still up in the air as per previous posts here, or should I go ahead and join? If so, is there any way to pay by bank transfer?)

Hey Dan, I'm afraid to say the training went ahead, we skate in all weathers and none of that wimping out in this club. |

Speak for yourself. I had a nice night in practicing on my new guitar. |

And I participated in this year's smallest suicide skate.
(Just me.)
When others wimped out because of a half-millimetre of moisture on the roads, it became more of a "oh well, guess I'll wander over to the pub, then" skate. |

Hi Dan, and welcome; glad you've delurked! Ignore LS-Mike, we love rain and skating in it, so we went ahead anyway, we practiced a different area of technique each lap, it was good fun, if pretty exhausting against the wind. Hope to see you on Saturday for video review. |
