LSST are holding the first track race of the year on 13 April.  Registration will be via the FISS website, www.inlinespeed.co.uk , and entry should open shortly.

Would be great to see lots of members there, either racing, or helping out, or supporting our skaters.

Harry,  Rio,  and I just got back from the indoor championships this weekend. Harry and Rio did well given we were unprepared for the level of competition.

It would be really great if we had more LSST members in the Tatem race that's in two weeks time. It's the start of the season, meaning most of those going will just be getting back into it.

It is category based, so really good for lesser experienced racers as you'll be matched with skaters of similar ability. There's a good mix of people that are coming to race on our home track, from elites to beginner skaters. Fred and Adrian know us all and will know which categories we should enter.

Also, social racing like this is good as a judge of how your skating and training is progressing throughout the year. Having one social race a month is great motivation and gives you something to train for and look forward to.

I like to be different! Twisted Evil 5000m is a straight race - keeping it simple (until we get to the relay).

Worth noting that FISS are now following new rules which will be in place for this race.  Firstly, no more flags.  Officials will be using whistles and communicating directly with skaters.  Secondly, we are moving to the new international start for the 500m, so need to start practising. I will provide more info as I get it.

You should have made it 10000. Then I could definitely beat Josh Coleman.

Can we practice starts this Sunday after track cleaning? I also really need to practice starts + running into the first corner as I have almost no experience in that and it shows.

sorry, chose the distances thinking of my lack of fitness given that you are insisting that I race this year!

For some reason I also thought it was track cleaning this weekend, but it's the following one - so I guess it could be done if you ask the coach nicely Smile

Maybe another pyramid Confused

I like your way of thinking! Even though personally I'd be better off if the distance was 100000, and no, that isn't a typo...  Wink
