Would like to do a ride on at least one of these days, preferably with company Smile

Thinking of going to Box Hill (98km), but could easily do the Biggin Hill (76km) or North London loop (60km).

Anyone interested, and if so, what's your availability / preference for either day?
Probably looking at a morning start (9/10ish), with a pub stop somewhere inbetween.

Anyone coming along on the Fnrttc to Whitstable tomorrow night? Should be balmy...

I'd be interested in Monday ( assuming Tatem session on Tuesday? ).

60km should be ok, not sure about the longer ones as I've never sat on my bike for more than about 90mins, and have probs with my hand periodically which could be unfunny if too far from home/civilisation.

So... I'll try to soften the missus to the idea ( might fail as it's a good weekend for family stuff... ) and keep my eyes peeled to see what is happening Smile

Kai, Selena, Howard and Lan-Lan, I believe.

I cancelled yesterday morning as I've had to reprioritise plans.  Have fun!!!  Looks like it will be lovely.

@Barrie: You only ever really know how comfortable your bike really is on a longer ride Smile
Not sure what's happening about Tatem on Tuesday...given the bank holiday, the time could potentially be brought forward.  Just checking with Fred / Adrian.

Unless you already have problems on a shorter ride Crying or Very sad
The hand I injured just before xmas still goes numb after about 1.5 laps of Richmond, I can nurse it around another 1.5laps, etc..  Doubling the distance on an easier ride doesn't seem too stupid a plan, tippling the distance probably is too stupid a plan though!

Don't pick the shorter ride just for me though ( I might not make it anyway ), I'll just try to tag along if you do.

Barrie: if it's vibration-related, try gel mitts?  If you've already tried gel mitts, try a different brand?

Good point... As I won't be at work I'll have my usual dilemma of Tatem being the wrong side of town (from home), hmmmz... cycling up? Razz

I think it's just pressure in the wrong place, coupled with the injury.  The hand still has a a few weeks/months of healing to do, so in the meantime I'm edumacating myself on how to hold handlebars Smile

If I'm careful how I hold the bars it's sort've OK/better, but again doing that for 1 or 2 laps of Richmond is OK, but doing it for 60km isn't appealing.

I'm assuming that over the next weeks/months I'll get better at not annoying it, and/or the hand will get increasingly better.

Tomorrow is looking a bit of a washout.

We can try for Tuesday, though given I'd like to go Tatem, will look to do a shorter ride. Crystal Palace is probably the order of the day.

An off road ride to Swinley has been thrown on the table, which might suit weather conditions better tomorrow.

I'm going to postpone the road ride for a nicer day, especially where we can enjoy a nice pub lunch in a beer garden.

If you're interested in some off road riding, let me know.
