Original message:
Hello Everybody!!
Since Hertford -> Cambridge (H->C) skate / cycling was very nice! We have decided to glide it once more! Thanks to Alex for planning it! And everybody who did it!
17 November! Or if weather forecast is bad than 24th!
Because many people asking about it and I am not comfortable with their skating skills than I will write this:
Who should attend: My personal feeling / recommendation is: if you done marathon faster than 1:45 than you should do it! I never did it that fast myself my personal best is 1:53 but Ive done H->C without any problems! Of course we will not be going as fast as marathon
Only down hills
Route:
No big hills! We will have couple of long but when you concord it you have a lot of time to rest before the next one! It is only around 75-80km (55miles)
Excellent Pub on the way where we must stop to have a lunch!!!!!!! If all skaters will be comfortable than I would recommend starting 30m later than before so we will not have to wait till pub opens at 12!
If you would like to attend but scared of your skating skills than I would recommend getting on a bike! Mountain or Road bike will do the job since it is comfortable speed for bikes! Or you could share bike between 2 or 3 people so you can change between bike and skates every 10 miles or something!
It will be here for couple of days than I will post same text to facebook and serpentine road forum so mistakes can be corrected before publishing everywhere (sorry my first language is not English)
Any comments / recommendations? Please PM.
Please let us know who is interested!

25km/h is a fine average, although you don't say for how long.
These long 'glides' are generally interspersed with lots of breaks for refreshment, map check, catch ups etc. as well as a fairly lazy lunch! If you are confident on a LFNS and afterwards feel like you could probably 'do it again' then you should be fine. If still in doubt you could join the LCST and come on your bike first time
I am checking dates for this but am definitely interested. Unsure as to whether it will be on skates or bike at the moment. |

Hi Andy, I can keep between 25- 20 km/h for 2 hours nearly without rest, after that i don't know i've never try.
Anyway, I'm Yoli, i think you know how I skate. What do you think? Will be fine for me or at the end I'll be dead ? |

I'm planning on skating this, btw: it's not far enough to be worth cycling ;-)
(assuming I have a working bike then anyway ...) |
