To say the truth and to make everybody who didn’t attend jealous I should say excellent skate, route, lunch, whether and of course people!
9:15am > 3:45pm =6.5h - 2h lunch = 4.5hours = 75-80km = average speed 17km/h |
Yeah yeah, just rub it in! |

Yep, seconded.
I was so tired I fell asleep in the bath when I got home, though. I guess getting drunk and going to bed at 3am the night before wasn't optimal preparation. |

Yup, it was a brilliant day. I started with an exhilarating early morning ride from Dagenham to Hertford so I'd done thirty miles before starting the team run.
It was a pretty chilled run with a good pub lunch. Alastair was flying - Dan was showing the effects of the night before The cylists turned off to Royston just as we go to Cambridge so that we could get the train back to KX. The skaters went on into Cambridge in search of a pub.
I fell asleep afterwards too - in front of the telly - when I woke up England were losing 8-9 - so I witnessed their brilliant recovery - so all in all a very good day! |

| Thanks to all involved in route checking and organising this. My first ever long distance run. I made a snap decision to come on friday night after Andy called me up to remind me. Thanks Andy - it was a good call! Such a nice experience to be cruising down country roads with a cycle escort! Even the possibility of using a cyclist to brake on steeper hills! Let's do more of this! |

All day I’ve been thinking about one idea!
I WOULD LOVE TO DO IT ONCE MORE!!! Anybody will be interested in doing almost the same route once more??? Just tell me when and I’ll be there !!! We can start 30-60mins later so we can get to the pub at 12 or after! We also can find a road around gravy which we had to walk. We also know short cut on cycle lane next to train line just before Cambridge!
I am posting it to see if people will be interested! |
