A reminder that this year's ride is on Sat 18th October, and this year there are 2 variants; The 2006 route which goes over the top of Ashdown Forest and the New 1AAA Mid Sussex Hillier which uses the same first half (including the legendary Cob Lane) but then goes along some lovely new lanes around Cuckfield and Ansty never before used and features a bonus feed stop as well as the regular Staplefield control. The Hillier is very much a pilot ride and is therefore limited to 20 riders this year so get you entries in quick. Hope to see you in Chailey! |
Here's the thread from last year |

| P.S. Cob lane is not as bad (in memory, anyway) as whatever that hill was we did on Monday |

| Getting there: last year I think I got the train from Haywards Heath. It was ~30 minutes fairly brisk ride (well, I was running late) from there to the start |

And the bad news is that the latest train you can get, to comfortably get to the start for 8:30, is 7:10 from London Bridge. Sadly that is too early for me and Kay.
Other rides that we plan to do:
Oct 5: Ride of the Falling Leaves (http://www.dulwichparagon.com/) - need to pre-register. Hilly 110km ride out into Kent (or shorter, flatter 80km option). Popular end of season event, starting from near Crystal Palace.
Oct 11 9:30: 100km Audax from Henham, Saffron Walden (7:58 train from Liverpool St). Fairly flat ride round quiet bits of Essex. Smallish event probably.
Oct 31 10:00: 100km End of Summertime audax from Stevenage - lots of trains out. Another popular end of season event - usually lots of people. Fairly flat and fast route. |
