depends on whether we've decided surgery is inevitable by that point.
At the moment I am following the "complete rest and it might settle" advice.
If I go the other route though I'm allowed to skate (on smoothish surfaces) right up until the day of the op |

Well, I was really trying to go to this Skaiti event but... as I will be there, I won't be able to go. I mean I'll be in Haiti, and not skating, giving some help!, so not going to Dunsfold
Yep, not joking, I hope I don't catch any diseases as this is a last minute decision I'm going without vaccinations.
So missing any event from tomorrow night, until the 18th of this month. Wish me luck mates, I hope you collect lots of money for the guys.
See you soon! |

Hey Hulyom! Good luck in Haiti!!
So the weather forecast is looking really good for the weekend in Surrey!
The guys at the Dunsfld Park 'Dakota Diner' have told me they're planning to be open for the full 24 hours! The Dakota Diner will be open from 10am Saturday morning and I heartily recommend it! - so there's no need to bring any food! Hot snacks all the way! Hot coffee around the clock!
Don't forget to bring lots of cash for the raffle. Photos of all the gear are on the website.
Total raised now stands at £10,790 and sponsorship is still coming in. The draw for the TopGear tickets and the Lush Tula and the South Devon Chilli Farm goodies is going to be tomorrow so get your money in quick if you want to be in the draw.
I hope that you're fit Pamela and look forward to seeing everyone on the track. Thanks for your support of the event, I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun.

Hi everyone!
I hope you all had as much fun at Skaiti as we did? We had such a great weekend of skating and smiles!
There is now a Skaiti Facebook page for sharing any thoughts and photographs about the event... look for Skaiti 2010 and you should find it easily enough.
I'm trying to get an idea of how far we all skated as a collective. If everyone could post up their mileage on here then I can add it to the grand total. Maybe we skated far enough to go from Surrey to Haiti, you never know!

Just a quick Skaiti update - the total to date is now £15,247.33 which is enough to pay for 31 Shelterboxes. I received a letter from Shelterbox yesterday to say that another four of our boxes have now gone off to Haiti. If you've been collecting cash using one of the paper sponsorship forms please get the money in to JustGiving as soon as you can. I'm still updating the individual totals on the website, just for interest and the total mileage we covered stands at 7,608 from 155 skaters' individual reports so far.
Thank you for the kind words Christophe, we'll see what we can do about next year but it all depends on Dunsfold Park. Fingers crossed!

Just another quick update - the new total is £16,943.83, and after Giftaid that should mean over £20K for Shelterbox.
Thanks again to everyone who skated. |

Oh, some of you said and I absolutely forgot about updating you all how it went in Haiti.
Me and Agi (my wife) went with a Puertorican NGO which had a mobile clinic seeing from 200 to 300 patients per day with only 3 doctors, the doctors were amazing. Our job was provide the medicines, trying to help the doctors save time so they can check more people, I also helped giving injections and giving wound care, the little experience with the skating wounds was enough knowledge to start helping
Agi uploaded some pictures on the web a while ago and now sharing with you with a bit of delay http://photopeach.com/album/q25jsj ...Sorry about that.
I am so happy about the amount of money collected, it makes a big difference there and it literally saves many lives, but at the same time is very little compared to the amount of help they still need, I hope Skaiti keeps collecting more and more, very good job!
If anybody is interested in going there to help with the NGO I went, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the guys in Puerto Rico. |
