|
|
Now that Berlin is gone, there is one last thing left on my year to do list and that is a nice long skate in the country side.
I have the 29th on my calendar free. I'd like to see if there is any interest from other skaters to partner me in a longish relax skate in new forest.
http://www.thenewforest.co.uk/. Distance will be around 60 miles. Speed around 10-16mph (16-22 km/h). Not trying to brake records here.
I have skated there before, and you go through some nice landscapes plus all the ponies looking at you... funny. The surface is not berlin smooth, but its not too bad either. The traffic was ok and used to cyclist. There is a speed limit of 40mph
I have yet to settle on how to go there (drive or train) but at the moment train tickets are from £18 to £25 depending on where we want to start from.
After my experience in the rain for the one eleven, I wont mind skating in the wet unless it does really chuck down. In that case, we might transform the day to walk day?
Pub stop at lunch time is mandatory and will be part of the trip. Yummy nothing better than a good drink and proper food to get you ready for the afternoon.
So any interest or takers?

Xia would love to have joined you but have to work days that weekend.
Pity because I live in Whiteley on the south coast not far from the Forest.
I was in Le Touquet Northern France it was amazing blading on the road the french drivers dont worry and leave you plenty of room unlike the british who would be going mad!!! |
