On FB someone just invited me to a six-hour skate race in Belgium on Sunday 21st  August (the weekend after Goodwood).  You can enter teams of 1-5 people.  It seems like Rick is already attending.

Here's the link to the FB group.

This looks quite cool to me.
Anyone interested?

George

web site www.roll-on.be
€10 entry per team member. Bargain. They want all teams to pay together. I'd want all teams and individuals on one payment if possible.

2mile street course with some nice tight bends, including one probably right-hander more acute then 90deg.

It's my dad's birthday so I might see if the folks want to come over and take some shots.

So I've sent a registration email off to the organisers to see if we can do cash on the day registration, even at the €15 rate for post 10th August, as it's quite pausible that it would cost that much to do an international transfer. No response yet. I mentioned there might be one or two others. Ben was checking his schedule and Glenn was asking permission or something. Anyone else?

Plan is to road trip it. Rent a car for the weekend and drive over on Saturday via the chunnel and stay nearby on the night and then race 12-18 on Sunday and leave at 19:30, after George's podium  Wink  Back at chunnel for 10pm, back in UK for 11pm, slightly late night and I return the car on Monday morning before work. Simples.

Cost will be divided among whoever is in the car. If anyone that want's to come has their own motor and we can all fit in then it's very cheap indeed.

Looked at flying and no can do ant sensible prices and need to fly home Monday am. Looked at Eurostar and there is nothing late enough coming back to get home Sunday either so it is car. It's about 650mile round trip which is pretty easy going.

I am looking at rental options and it looks like we can get something to take abroad for <£200 for the weekend plus fuel and ferry/chunnel which seems okay to me.

Glenn has joined, so we are 4 for the trip. Race report next week. Everything booked. Fantastic looking country hotel on Saturday for £37 each with breakfast. Bargain.

We have a Eurotunnel going out in the afternoon. Check in closes at 16:12 so I'd like to do the pick up around 13:30 somewhere central. It's a Saturday so no free waiting time and I don't want to risk the traffic getting across town. Car pick up is around 10am so should be easy enough to get in. Where is a good place for everyone?

Coming back, last check in is 22:12. We can organise drop offs on the way back but we will want to leave reasonably promptly after the race as we need to get round Brussels which is often a pain. Should have enough to time to shower and maybe even a podium at 19:00 if it's on time but I'd rath not as I suspect we'll want to eat at some point. I'm not dropping the car off until Monday morning so no worries about rushing once we get back to this side.

Hey Rick,

Cheers for doing all the organising. The three of us are pretty central. Would the Vic suit? If not, perhaps suggest a place.

Thanks again,

G

Vic is very easy for me if everyone gets there before I do. There's no free or even metered parking to hang about and I can't register a rental car for pay by txt so not sure I can wait there very long. Aim to get there before 13:30 and I'll aim to get there a couple of minutes after then we can load up and head straight off.
