If, like me, you are more used to changing down before stopping and maintaining a ~100-110rpm cadence when moving, do not attempt to trackstand at traffic lights when in "minimum gear".  Clipless moment ow ow ow.

Doh, did you go down pavement side? I fear the next one I do will be traffic side.

Please don't try track standing at all, unless you are capable of holding a track stand with ease for at least 30 seconds.

You may remember at the bike session, I asked everyone not to do track stands when in a group for safety (We didn't want dominos on bikes!). The same applies when you are on the road - what ever gear you are running.

If you want to test yourself, hold a trackstand somewhere away from traffic, for 30 seconds plus, 3 times in a row without putting a foot down, before attempting on the road. Only when you can easily repeat the test, should you consider yourself ready to try it in traffic.

If you are unsure or can't pass the test, unclip before you come to a halt, so you can put your foot down when you stop.

Remember, even if you can track stand, you'll find it harder when you become tired. So don't take any chances.

The more you practice, the easier it'll become.....just don't expect to be able to do it straight away.

Glad to hear you're trying the training method though Dan !
