|We are excited to announce that Battersea indoor for Q 4 will start Saturday 10 October. This is a brilliant way to improve technique and cornering in a team environment.
The sessions are for 2 hours. We have booked every Saturday for the quarter starting from the 10th.
The times are 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. (except 26th December, which is 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m.).
Specifically, the dates are as follows:
October: 10; 17; 24; 31.
November: 7; 14;21; 28.
December: 5; 12; 19; and 26th.
The address is Hope Street, Battersea, Clapham Junction, South London, SW11 2DA.
Please ensure you have a helmet or you will not be able to take part in the session.
This session will cost £5 for LSST members, £8 for non LSST members, and £10 for drop-ins.
We will be bringing membership forms for those wishing to join the club, or for non-members that have attended the free quota of sessions - details of membership can be found here (http://www.londonspeedskaters.com/membership.php)
Warmup will start soon after the track is ready. Please bring a pair of trainers for the warm up.
We also need to vacate the hall promptly, and you can get changed in the reception area / changing rooms.
1. You will get much more from the session if you use "indoor" specific wheels (e.g. Rollex); or failing that new wheels - see from related posts where Fred has arranged an order from Rollex: http://www.londonspeedskaters.com/forums/RollX-Wheels-Club-order--t6182.php
This will help make sure that you get more "grip" and less "slip" meaning that you can attack the drills with a lot more confidence (and hence your learning curve will be faster).
2. Please ensure your skates are in a generally clean state
- If possible, remove your heel brake. This will help you perform some of the drills, and we should be in an environment where you can roll to a stop
For those that have not attended before, please ensure you read through this post ( http://www.londonspeedskaters.com/forums/-Training-Information-Sessions-Venues-Etiquette-etc--t98.php ) before stating attendance, paying close attention to the "Can I attend your training sessions?" and "Training Etiquette" sections.
If in doubt ask at training
