So I've registered Very Happy (and as you've probably guessed I'm trying to book all of my flights and accommodation for this year's events)

Who else is going? And where are you staying? And what flights are you on?

You mean oink!

I didn't think prices would have gone up that much!  Oh dear...but then I am choosing more sociable hours and a more convenient airport.

Tanya, Matty and Hazel are on the same flight, I believe.

thinking of booking Berlin soon - but there doesn't seem to be much interest from LSST? Or is there another thread?

PS I've seen an article in which the organisers say that numbers have declined in recent years, and that the future of the skating marathon is in question - can this be true?

Ed and I are going. That's enough,  surely?

72 people listed as going on Mital's Facebook event, many of whom are in LSST. You should come.

Yes unfortunately this is true. It might be the last Berlin Marathon skating, 2015 is not yet confirmed. It is already communicated that the race will not return to Sunday morning in case the Saturday is financially not feasible anymore...

Dude - you are already fit!

If you are not fit, then by implication (after today's training session) I am also not fit!

Found a reasonable flight via stanstead with Ryanair (times and prices).

Does anyone have recent experience taking skates as handluggage on Ryanair? Or maybe this depends on the airport security? (out of stanstead and returning from Schonfeld)

Otherwise hold bag adds 50 to the cost of the flight.....!

Registration deadline is extended to 22nd August!

Also note there is discount for first time participants, let me know if there is interest to help arrange.

Every entry will count to secure another year of skating Berlin!

Mainly based on airport security. I've flown from Gatwick and Heathrow with skates as hand luggage with no issue - no promises though.

My preference is always to have skates in hand luggage (unless I'm bringing more than one pair).

Contact Alex Lund from ESS, he might be able to arrange something.  A bunch of us are stating at the Generator Hostel.
