BTW, I will be coming to Berlin with an internal flight from Germany, anybody who is going to land around 3:30pm? (sorry Dave, I thought I was landing at 5:30pm but it was actually 15.30).

Any suggestions on what means to take to get to the three pigs?
Cab? Train? Coach?

get a travelcard so you can travel by u-bahn, s-bahn and bus. E.g. a 72 hr travelcard can be purchased at the newsagent shop at Schoenefeld Airport, you activate it by getting it stamped - then go as you please, no probs. I think this cost about 22 Euros last year.

One bit of warning regarding public transport - there is only a minimal service on the S-Bahn trains at the moment. They discovered technical problems with the trains and had to take out most of the fleet (yes that also happens in Germany Wink

)

So try to use U-Bahn and busses if possible.

Good luck everyone, it looks like it'll be a great weekend with sunshine to boot...unfortunately I have had to duck out of this as it's my younger one's 9th birthday on Sunday and, apparently, getting back by Sunday lunchtime (before the party starts) isn't good enough...oh well, I'll have to settle for Cologne

you have to quote my name (Sol Findley) and possibly this number: 410300-20-1382 when checking in.
Hopefully they won't charge the 1st person to check in all 352 Euro! Laughing

Lessons learned from last year

1. make sure you have some contact numbers written on the back of your race number if you are not carrying your mobile phone

2. make sure you have more than one just in case the person you do try and contact disappears off to have a massage in your hour of need Embarassed

This year I have printed off sticky labels with 4 of our mobile phone numbers on it. If any of you want one to stick to the back of your race number look out for me, Ed, Maxx or Gill (once I've actually got to Berlin and given them a bunch of labels)
