| I booked up as soon as I had my confirmation - to get the cheapest flights possible. I'm flying out on the Friday morning and back on Sunday afternoon. |

Kay and I are flying with Ryanair from Stansted:
GOING OUT
From London Stansted(STN) to Berlin Schonefeld(SXF)
Fri, 24Sep04 Flight FR8544 Depart STN at 14:25 and arrive SXF at 17:15
COMING BACK
From Berlin Schonefeld(SXF) to London Stansted(STN)
Mon, 27Sep04 Flight FR8545 Depart SXF at 17:40 and arrive STN at 18:30
We are staying at the Westin Grand - quite extravagant at 150 Euros per night for a double, but they do a super breakfast, they have a very nice sauna/spa to relax in after the marathon, and they are super convenient for the start. And its cheap for a 5* hotel.
On the Sunday we will be revisiting the Flaeming Runde, weather permitting. This is a 100km skate path through the countryside south of Berlin. It was built specifically for skating, so it has a very nice surface all the way, its mostly quite wide (2-3m), and nearly all car-free. Anyone who fancies it is very welcome to join us for the whole 100km, or just a part of it. It will be easy after Saturday's warm-up |

If you have not yet booked hotel rooms in Berlin, hurry : we realized our hotel was full last week when trying to rent a 4th room. Remember there are only 8 000 skaters, but 30 000 runners |

Thanks Etienne for pointing out that my flights had changed. Its a shame that Ryanair did not tell me. That is the last time that I book so far in advance with them.
I have now changed our booking to fly out on Thurs 23 Sep on the 18:55 flight, as there is not time to register if arriving on the Friday evening flight.
Opening times for the BERLIN VITAL are:
Thursday, 23.09.2004 von 14.00 - 21.00 Uhr
Friday, 24.09.2004 von 12.00 - 21.00 Uhr
Saturday, 25.09.2004 von 9.00 - 18.00 Uhr
If it is the same as last year then these are also the registration times.
Also remember that this year the inline marathon is on Saturday morning, so it is unlikely that there will be time to register on Saturday. |

Lets book our hostel then. Same place myself and Belotti stayed last year? (Etienne, yours was a little loud wasn't it?) There were rooms of 6 in our one. How many are keen..?

I am thinking about going to EasyJet option... and only staying Friday night in Berlin.
Departs Luton 13:10 on Friday,
Departs Schonefeld 16:30 on Saturday.
Depends on if the hostel will accept a Friday night only booking.
[edit] It's the heart of gold hostel. I have emailed them to ask. |

The place I had was a bit noisy, but this did not disturb me from sleeping.
Room with two bed is €46.
I have booked one already, and they have availlability.
Their location were quite practical. Right tube line for the airport and very near from the start/end. Was not far from the restaurents we went to.
