Wife told me I should wait until the baby birth before booking....
Sensible when you need a date of birth for the plane tickets =) |

Well, you guys make plans...
I am not going to drive on a Friday afternoon next year - this time it took me nearly 6 hours to go from Hamburg to Berlin (normally you can do it in 3,5...). |

@ Michi,
how about booking your train ticket already .... like Tanya has her flights booked ??
That would get you to Berlin in 1:15h. |

Online registration for the Berlin Marathon 2007 will start
Wednesday, 15 December 2006
For all those who consider doing more than one race in Berlin, it might be good to wait as usually there is a package on offer - all SCC races (Halfmarathon, City Night, X-race and Marathon) for about 100 Euros.
That package application should come with the result "book" of the Berlin Marathon 2006. |

| Ooh, just got my final results page back. 418/6093 compared with 558/???? last year. That's considerably better, I'm chuffed with that! |

Well done! Do both results have the same inclusion / exclusion of the elite skaters?

Is that a paper thing, or is it on the web somewhere? It's obviously not the same as "Platz" on the SCC site, cos that says you were 175 |

2005 Marathon:
Platz 558
Altersklasse M30
Altersklassen-Platz 156
2006 Marathon:
Platz 175
Altersklasse M30
Altersklassen-Platz 60
Something seems to be wrong there! The 2006 cert. shows Platz: 132 von 1161 in Klasse M30, 418/6093 for Gesamtplatz. 558 seems to agree with my memory of my 2005 certificate. |

It seems to suggest that the paper certificate includes the people from block A. The online results for 2006, but not 2005, excude block A.
The reason for excluding block A is presumably because the results for block A are ordered by finishing sequence, but the results for everyone else are ordered by finishing time.
Its all very confusing, but to compare 2005 and 2006 results its probably best to use the numbers on the certificate. 156 -> 132, or 558 -> 418 is a good progression! |

| Pity about my overall time and progression relative to Quentin's awesome performance though! No training by me apart from cycling and a bit of marshalling: yes, no training by Quentin: LOL! |

376/6093, 111/1161 in M30 (not comparing with 2005 as it doesn't really count, and I have no idea where I came then anyway). Given that I was in Mike's line for most of the second half that probably says something about how the lines break up towards the end.
It was like some kind of weird nightmare, the end of that race. Turned the corner, thought I recognised where I was, was thinking to myself "is this the end can I go yet is this the end can I go are we nearly there yet what about now is this it is this it is this it?" and everyone around me was standing up and waving. |

954/6093 overall
149 out of 2000something in women
21/607 in W40 (that's not strictly true I know but not too far off eiher)
I'll say it again : Not too bad for an old bird
Something to improve on for next year, maybe make a bigger dent in W40 |

On the Davengo registration page, I can read the following:
http://www.davengo.com/loader.php?target=EventDetail
Registration periods:
15.12.2006 - 27.07.2007: 55.00 EUR
28.07.2007 - 24.08.2007: 75.00 EUR
So, as far as I can tell, registration fees will go up at the end of July.
I think that the increase in registration fee after 28:th of april only applies to runners. Or have I missed anything ? |
