Summary of activities for Friday:
- 17:30 to 18:30 Demo race, Tempelhof air field
- 18:30 to 20:30 Free nightskating, Tempelhof air field
- 21:00 Dinner, Ristorante Romagna, Stresemannstraße 95-97

Dear all,
since Berlin is drawing nearer and some people have expressed interest, I have booked a nice pre-marathon meal again on Friday evening.
This year there will be a public skating rink at the Marathon Expo, skaters will have two courses of 500m and 1.2km on Tempelhof air field. From 17:30 to 18:30 there will be a Elite "show race" on the 500m track, and from 18:30 to 20:30 there is a public night skate directly at the Expo*.
So therefore I suggest to have a go there weather permitting and then meet up for dinner later in town. I have prebooked a table for 15 people in last year's place "Romagna" on Stresemannstraße 95-97, close to the "3 pigs". We are group "London" and expected from 9pm.
Hope to see you all there! Please indicate if and with how many people you will come for the dinner, so I can expand the booking if needed.
Cheers Merten
* Last year's combination with the (other) "Berlinparade" demonstration does not work as well this year. The skate leaves from Alexanderplatz (big TV tower) at 8pm and go a different route, so it would be 10:30pm before we are back.

Hi Merten,
Thanks for booking the restaurant again. I would like to come along, with my girlfriend as well (who won't be skating on Sat unfortunately).
Cheers,
Daryl |

Oh no, and I was looking to the Friday street skate to be my only training for this event
I will confirm nearer the day as I might still go for the street skate.
Actually, given the wait for food there last year, I reckon I will be back in time to see you all there anyway |

Do you know what this is like?
I really enjoyed the street skate last year, though I can't remember how far/fast it was, so not sure if Paula is capable or not... |

| We pulled off it at half time last year to go to the restaurant. It was a good place to meet some friends from other countries. Would like to do it again as I will be a bit bored on Friday from studying some course work for Monday. |

Guys to clarify again - the skate is happening AT THE EXPO!!!.
I guess they will do some laps of the field and not even leave the airport, so @Barrie it should be doable for anybody who can finish half the sunday stroll.
So just take your skates along, then watch a bit of Elite racing, then we can all stroll around the course later. I edited the top post accordingly, sorry for any confusion caused. |

The skate and meal sounds good, but we are arriving late Friday, so won't be able to make it.
See you Saturday. |

| Thanks Merten, I understand what was what, but wasn't sure how interesting the skate at the expo would be to me... |

The good thing about a very relaxed one - you might meet up with people, have less hassle to travel around, and save your energy for Saturday |
