|
|
I'm about to order a set of racing wheels for Le Mans & Goodwood - what is the best Matter wheel to be using?
I weigh about 9st / 57kg / 127lb.
They have to be Matter 110mm, but I can get any matter wheel. Should I be on the Juice F1? or the F2? Or something else? |

When using Matters, most skaters are on the F1 (yellow), though I find those a tad bit too hard and so prefer the F2 (white). I think F2 should be what you go for.
Not sure how many sets you want, probably at least 2 or 3. Don't forget rain wheels - Storm Surges are currently the best (made by MPC), but who knows what's coming out between now and then. |

I paid about E100 for mine. I was hoping that they'd work like an umbrella and spending all that money would mean that every race I took them to was dry, but no, it still rains.
Maybe if you get some too that'll be the added incentive that a cruel and uncaring weather system needs to spite both of us and give us a dry race |

The umbrella theory only works if you don't take any dry wheels otherwise they cancel eath other out and don't affect the weather at all.
EdP for the surfaces the yellows would be fine for you Whites would be better for rougher conditions and maybe better for Goodwood but remember that it tends to get rather hot at Le Mans and harder wheels soften up and soft wheels can give you too much girip and actually slow you down |

either the matter, IMAGE F1 | 121g | OFFSET CORE
Good roll and slightly lighter - better for the distance you are looking to do
or the
JUICE F2 | 136g | HOLLOW CORE
Better roll and given you weight better on the ankles and potential to improve power output. |

Cheers for all of the advice - I went with the Juice F1 in the end on Tanya's suggestion. Plus I'm loving their 80mm cousins on my slalom skates at the moment.
I'll give them a session at Tatem in the spring to take the shine off and if I find them too hard I'll get some F2s in.
I will of course order a full set of Storm Surges before the season starts as well - these were just on special order from Q. |

I suggested the Image F1s, with offset core .. many grams lighter than the Juice F1s |
