Don't tempt me!
I don't think anyone has the Z, but recall Diego being interested in them.
Speedy Dave has the latest Vaypors which the Z has similar. if not the same, new features.
If your Jets fit you fine, then it sounds like you have Bont feet and I can't imagine you'd go wrong with the Zs. Are there any discussions on the Bont form about them, or perhaps start one there asking for user experience? |

Ed!, no sure if you receive the same email from Bont, I can provide you the promotional code for the discount if you are interested
(I assume everyone that have bought from Bont, would have the email.)
Bont feet, I guess so, have no problem at all with the stock Jet
Thx for the advice, will check the Bont forum. |

Ed, you've had both Jets and Cheetahs, correct? I'm quite interested in the Cheetahs and am thinking about getting some but would really like to try something on first. Blueroom stocks Jets and I'm wondering if they are similar enough for me to tell if the Cheetah would be okay if the Jets don't kill my feet, especially at 15% discount |

I'm not sure David has many Bonts in stock for you to try, It could be worth you giving him a call to find out b4 you go there, i remember him saying that he's only got certain sizes.. Ed would know waay better than me but if my understanding is correct the Jet is totally heat moldable but the Cheetah isn't.. if its any use i'm looking at the same solution for me... especially if LSST members get the discount (as soon as i sign up).... My semi race's are proper painful right now... |

Oops - missed this.
Yes, I've got both. Jets are meant to be superior in build quality, and fitting-wise, I'd assume that they're the same, but since my Cheetah's are semi-customs, I can't say for sure.
Also, I bought the Cheetah's pre-2010 which still had the Super Mold Technology, whereas current versions do not (but are still very heat moldable).
If you're not sure about sizing, you can always contact Bont directly, or Glenn Koshi (http://www.londonspeedskaters.com/forums/Bont-sales-through-Glenn-Koshi--t4043.php) for advice. When I bought my Jets, I was asked for various measurements of my foot, and they advised that way.
Bont tend to fit narrow footed people better, so if you have a wider foot, then it might be worth considering semi-custom if you decide to go for Bonts. I have written some details on SR.com (but can't link to it as I can't access that forum from work), which states the above and possibly more.

Not much comments about Z on Bont forum!!
maybe I am not looking hard enough
Seems a lot of people, either go with Cheetah, Jet or Vaypor.
Also in a dilemma, on whether I should get a new speedskates, or a new pair of rec skates. |

Well, the Z's are much newer aren't they, there wasn't an awful lot around on the Jets when I bought mine, but thanks to Ed being a skate-whore/ahead-of-the-curve ( delete as applicable ), I could check them out first hand.
There's bound to be some Zs at Berlin if you're going and can wait that long.
And previously, people tending to either go for the Jets ( and now Cheetahs ) to save money, or Vapors to, er, spend money... very few middle models are around as far as I've seen.
I got the letter about the discount a few days ago... |

| I think I'm just going to go for it and try some Bont Cheetahs. Don't know if it's worth sending a tracing of my foot or not. I don't really want to be spending loads of money on a pair of speed skates, because I don't know if I'll be using them for that long so semi-customs might be out of my price range anyway. |
