If anyone does not know where to spend their summer vacations and wants to do the Danish variation of the 111km, the Bornholm Rundt goes over 100km once around the island.
The first 45 km are hilly (and the downhill parts are just great - if you like downhill) , the last 55 pretty flat - but pray for easterly winds as the last 40km go almost due west.
For pampered German skaters, the asphalt is pretty rough, but you shouldn't have too many problems with that.
The scenery is great and it is a fun race - although I have to admit that I was really glad to get out of my skates after somewhat over 4 1/2 hours.
They also offer a Marathon this year and have taken out the 3x33km-relay (which was used by a Danish team in 2004) to "escort" their 2 teammates starting in the 100km race into the top ranks - Gav, you can ask Rune about that as he supposedly masterminded that plot.
