For those not going to the One-Eleven...

Anyone want to do this? I know we've talked about it a couple of times but we haven't actually done it unless I was busy and missed it.

Not sure I can offer lifts at this time as it is my dad's birthday and may need to start from Reading unless my mum has something planned to get him out on Saturday night.

Plan to do it initially in one line at a slow pace then several lines of similarly paced skaters. I seem to remember that doing the whole thing both ways was about the length of a marathon. Surface is pretty good, if it's dry. If it rains on the saturday or is forecast for the sunday then it's off as it dries rather slowly and I don't want a strain injury that close to the marathons of September.

That would be Sunday, 21st August I imagine?  I'd love to, but I've entered Tour of the Surrey Hills, a 100km hilly audax ride.  There are some great hills to climb, check out this profile:

That ought to make for some fairly good training!  Entry form here if anyone fancies coming along:

You may want to be a little alert, one of my friends got taken out on the B2B path.  Hopefully this stuff has stopped by now:

Both ends of the path are in not too nice neighbourhoods but the middle bit is nice. I was thinking of parking up in Saltford and doing it one way and back then the other way and back so we have somewhere safe to put the cars.

Well not too many takers for this weekend so I'll play hockey instead. Anyone fancies it for the first wewekend of September let me know. I want to pump some nice distances in up to a week before doing Cologne the following weekend.

That's 3rd or 4th Sep. We may even get the 111ers to come along then.

You're planning it for next Saturday now, aren't you (3rd Sept)? Count me in, would appreciate a space in your car.

Would like everyone that is coming to get to my place for 9:30. Can arrange pickups from Southall station (Mainline from Paddington) or Osterley Tube (Piccadilly line) both zone 4.

I'm interested as well. Hopefully no shopping carts will be tossed from bridges at us.

Me too, and Kay.   We don't have a car so we need a lift, or maybe we can train it?

BTW we were checking out a route in Kent on Sunday.   We cycled the route (about 80km) and its very skatable with no sharp hills and skatable surfaces throughout.    We are quite booked up at the moment so probably looking at early October to try it for real on skates.

Okay. So far we have
Hans (does that mean Farhana too?)
Natasha
Alex
Kim
Kay & Roger
Me

which is 7 or 8. I suspect Kiwi Rich is up for it if he has nothing else on.

That will be 2 cars at least. I am driving and Alex has also volunteered. It is possible that the Alex may want to start from his place if there are people that can make it there easily.

Plan is to drive to Saltford which is a village or small town somewhere in the middle. This should keep the vehicles nice and safe and there is also a couple of pubs to have a bite and beverage at before the drive back. We skate toward Bristol until we get to the skate park at the end. We take a short rest and then skate back. There is a cattle grid on this section to keep your eyes open for. It may also have quite a few people once we get there so we may have to take it easy there. Then we turn around and come back. Went we get back to Saltford. Those that don't want to do any more can take a break at the pub beside the path. The rest then continue to the other end of the path and come back. We meet at the pub, do whatever and come home.
