Not that easy as, for example the Swiss Inline Cup dates are set quite late. We only know about a few before the AGM the rest we can only speculate about. SIC races had their dates changed quite a lot this year. It's a shame as it has dramatically weakened our Le Mans presence from 4 full teams to a difficult to fill 2 this year.
Can't miss dates are a lot down to the individual and our main track racers are racing more abroad than ever before now so it is inevitable that we won't be able to put in many skaters on quite a few events. Then again so few have ever been committed to track that we are not reducing the numbers. More liek we swell them a bit when people do go. Having said that it is still hard when we have to miss the championships but not many of us raced indoors before so when the date came up at the AGM and Gav mentioned that it was the day we flew back from Sardinia it was noted as being a shame but not the end of the world.
National Track Championship dates are suggested by FIRS as they force major event organisers to block out certain dates as reservered for national championships. This avoids a conflict so long as national champs are held on those dates but it doesn't help with other stuff.
The major events attended by most of the club's racers are Berlin Marathon (end of September and clashed with a SWF race last year unless you flew home on Saturday like me), Le Mans weekend (last weekend of June or the one after that clips July, like this year. Other well attended races last year were Engadin and that's about it and even that clashes with Le Mans this year so nobody was ever going to go to Birmingham that weekend. However dates for both those races were not published until Jan or Feb.
Lastly the FISS calendar is getting more races than ever before so the domestic scene is improving. This will also lead to more clashes. Basically there is little that can be done. Sorry. |

it wasn't an attack, it was just a statement that with such a limited number of participants it's not really much of an event.
I'm pretty sure we could encourage a greater track presence if that what people wanted, but dates change to accomadate the best attendence for the club not the event (well it's how it seems).
p.s you are entirly correct about my calandar and it being fully ... shame my bank account isn't |

lol re bank account- I know how you feel!!
Not sure exactly what you mean by club versus the event, but I guess every club wants their dates at the best time for them for different reasons.
All I was trying to do was to let anyone who wasn't attending the Sardinia training that this was on, and actually 62 entrants with all their supporters will be quite a lot of people in a sports hall! My visit to Wisbech was the first "full" ie with all age ranges, indoor meeting that I had attended, and I really enjoyed it.

I think Peter is asking whether anyone is thinking of going. It is not likely that he can tell us how it went as it is still 6 days away. Unless, of course, you are going by a French calendar |

| Yes, sorry, just wanted to know if it was just me who was interested as it's a bit of a hike up there, and the Sunday stroll will be a bit short of bodies. |
