Spalding again. Might be Milton Keynes in 2008 but Spalding it is for next year. There is also a warm up race meeting on 11th March at the same place for those that want to check out the surfaces. I realise the champs clashes with Sardinia so many won't be able to attend.
Details will follow when the invites come out. Just want people to be aware of the date for the time being. There will be a relay a veterans race and all the other usual age related stuff. |

| any chance we can convience them to move it? I'd be interested in going (as would a few others) but can't make the 25th... worth an appeal on the ground of competition! |

| On balance I would say no chance. the only one that was really movable was the one on the 11th. Indoors is pretty evil on the knees. |

Who is preregistered?
This link gives a list of who have sent their entries in so far.
Not sure if that is a good idea or not. People might leave registering til late if there are waiting to see the level of competition. Not like they don't anyway but this might actually encourage it.
Apparently you can now download the entry form from the FISS site.

| Not when there are only 3 entries. It's usually published with a couple of weeks to go. |

I was thinking about going, and it is tempting, as I did enjoy myself when I did it that time, but... ive not done anything like it in 2 years, and there seems little point turning up & competing in something that you havent prepared for. im totally up for just going up and joining in for fun though, so long as there isnt any pressure/expectation going on & its all friendly.
does that Excel stuff still go on? |

| ExCel....Not for 2 years, unfortunately. You can always go on March 11th to prepare yourself. The race meeting is designed to be a chance to warm up for the actualy champs 2 weeks later. I'll be there so I can give you a lift. |

Couple of points Rick, the link doesn't work for me, does it need updating? And on the entry form the date states 27 March 2007 (a Tuesday?) so please confirm this is an (obvious) typo.
As I am going to Sardinia I won't be able to go to Champ's but do intend to try the March 11th warm up(need to see what effect this ice training has had on my indoor skills )

62 entries for this one - and if the atmosphere's like the Wisbech Rollers race meeting last week it should be a cracking afternoon

and about 4 LSST? ... shame that the limited number of events in the UK always seem to conflict with the more major events of LSST! |

HI Tanya
the dates are sent in by the individual clubs, sorted by FISS to ensure that dates do not conflict, and presented at the AGM which every FISS member is welcome to attend, and which 2 main members of LSST attended this year. We actually cancelled one FISS track event this year because the proposed LIM date changed, long after all the other dates were set. Your calendar is so full that I doubt that any dates would be easy dates, but if you (as a club) wanted to send in the "can't miss" LSST events it might be possible to do more. Even then, as you know, many of these marathon dates are changed. But if you want your voice heard Tanya, get along to the FISS AGM, or simply write to the committee with your suggestions. If you really want to change things, you could get more involved as the whole committee is up for election this Autumn.
