For those who are interested.

Blokes were led home by Zepto in a 1:09:21 (W Begg again)
Girls followed (rather closely in Tanya's case) Zepto 1:23:03 (Berndt, Jenny)

wow guys! that sounds like a great race. I was in notts for the battle this weekend, holding fort against nasty foriegn freestylers, but it looks like you guys had a wicked time too...

So who is going to kneecap Tanya for me? or do I have to do it myself?

Nahh, learn to work together and you can take over the world. So much easier to have a friendly face.

Thanks guys for the words.

I really enjoyed that race, was very nervous on the start line as there weren't a lot of girls starting in the licensed block and those that were looked pretty mean & keen... boys licensed pack had more variety in it.

I was chatting to Dan / Peter at the start and getting a few men telling me I'd be DQ if i started there ... I was just chatting and gonna move back when we got underway.

When the girls started, I got a bit blocked and the lead pack were about 150-200meters away going up a hill ... decided to try and catch them, so headed off with about 4others behind me... ended up catching them about 1.5k in and then spent the next 38.5 wondering when they would break!!  Also spent a great deal of time waving to the locals, looking at the senery and enjoying the race.  At the 40km point they went, I saw it happening but was blocked... managed to get into spitting distance again about 41km but they then went again in a pack on the downhill and progressively pulled away ... when I turned into the straight and went after another girl (someone booed me - think cause i was chasing a local down Crying or Very sad ).

Crossed the line and missed ALL the free things (apart from the medal, which is one up on Peter C), as did Dan/Peter but when Rick/Ray crossed there were treats galore.... Peter was a little sorer about missing out of the free beer I think than hitting the ground Smile

You suck! Razz

Just kidding - well done, and nice race report.  If you had time to wave at the locals and take in the scenery, you obviously had more in you.
