[quote="Barrie"]Odd from Glenn, he was ace when I bought mine, to the extent that I was very annoyed that I "wasn't allowed" to buy Paula's through him. Me being me I'm sure I asked plenty of questions before commiting.

Q: I use Orthotics in my skates, what can I do?
c) You stand on your orthotic while making a pair of molding socks for a custom pair of boots. The orthotic will then be built into the boot and you no longer need to use your orthotics for skating. |
Yeah I read that, I just wanted to check with BONT whether you stand on it INSIDE the sock, or UNDER the sock.
Bont's reply made it as clear as mud. |

I'm amazed that Glenn gave bad service. I've known him for a few years, and he's always been best of the best in my experience.
That Bont faq seems fairly obvious to me - you'd normally have socks between your feet and the orthotics, and that's what physics/logic suggests you do with moulding socks too, since the orthotic needs to change the shape of your foot and of the sock to the prescribed shape to be built into the boot. There's not much point in taking a mould of the bottom of the orthotic. |

A bit further down the faq is another entry ( a bit stupid not to put them together... and tie up the loose end(s) ) :-

Q: I use orthotics, how can I fit them into my boot?
A: Using the BONT SOX you can easily mould your orthotics into the boot. Simply place the orthotic on the floor and place some plastic over it. Then mould your feet using the Bont Sox and the orthotic will be inbuilt in your foot mould. |
Still not as clear as it could be though, and contradictory info from the horse's mouth hardly helps. |

| If you don'twant to use orthitics in your skates, then they must be outside the sock but fixed in place so they are supporting your foot correctly inside the sock. If they are inside the sock then then will need to be inserted in your boots every time you use them. How you fix them, I'm not sure. I would suggest something like cutting down an old training show and putting them in there while wrapped in clingfilm. Then wear the molding sock and stand in the training shoe. Not sure how well that would work. Best to try with a dry sock to check the comfort/support first I guess. |

" Hi Toby,
Okay...I don't mean to sound pushy, but if you order thru me, I'll eliminate your confusion. "
I tend to order through someone after they have eliminated my confusion, not before... |
