Duesseldorf was very much the start of the skating season for Kay and myself, with only a couple of hours skating each so far this year, but it was a great re-introduction to the sport with a race in ideal conditions - warm and sunny, good roads and strong pacelines.

Congratulations to Gav for another quality performance, and to Rick for a new PB.

My race went fairly well, despite my lack of on-skate training and ongoing injury problems.   I stayed with the main pack of licensed skaters until around the 21km mark, but when a gap opened ahead I couldn't close it and so I skated the rest with a group of 4 other stragglers.
