On the 23rd Tessa will make her debute on her first official icerace. I'll return to longtrack icespeedskating after more then 4 years. |

Update!
Icespeedskating last saturday:
Both I and Tessa had to skate a 500 and a1500.
After such a long time the 500 felt a bit strange. First 100 went in 11.4 (oops) I finished in 42.95. Not too fast but technical okay. Tessa skated her first race ever in 58.98. I didn't see her skate because we started in the same quartet. But from what she told me she kind of left her technique at the starting line.
My 1500 time was 2.07.09, very happy with that time, "only" 5 second slower then my personal best (march 2001).
Tessa skated the 1500 in 2.55.58. Not bad in her first race. The best part was that the third lap was faster then the second and the second faster then the third.
This picture was taken when I overtook Tessa (I did manage to catch up with her).

Mmm, a quartet at the 500? Were there so many ice skaters? |

I assume Quartet is 4 people must make for a crowded first bend...
Oh, this is long track.
That said, I did some Dutch ice over Christmas, Jap Eden in Amsterdam, which was a very fun education. |

Small update from the Netherlands again:
Last sunday I finished second in the fourth non-licenced iceskaters marathon in Enschede. (50 laps). Whith one race to go I am on the 5th place in the overall standings 10 points behind third place. (first place gets you 20 point so the third place allmost unreachable).
Next race 21st. |
