The 16th Egyptian Marathon will be taking place at Luxor City on February 13th 2009.

This might be a nice break from the winter weather (although it's also ski season).

Luxor is here.

Direct flights aren't cheap.  Probably an inclusive package holiday would be the same price.

I've wanted to go for 2 years now. Specially as it tends to fall to half term so could go en famille. But that's why the flights are expensive of course!
Also, from what I can see it seems to be just a half

I was seized last week with a sudden urge to take a holiday in Alexandria, see the (place where the) lighthouse (used to be), etc.  I wonder if it makes any sense at all to combine the two

Say here http://www.egyptianmarathon.com/index-old.html that it's 20-25C. Perfect!

If you find transport to get you from one to the other then yes I'd say!

I have fancied this in the past but their itinerary they gave implied it was a week long thing and the cheapest flights I ever found at the time were £500+ so I put it out of my mind. I do like the look of the route they do. I think it is a 4 lapper.

I am actully very intersted to go not only for skating but trip as well and
flight ticket is less than pound 350,incl tax, from Manchester where I leave
(it is Bmi flight.)

I will see more detail and probably go if the time is right for me. Smile
