I can't do it now as my mum is down. I am really disapointed as I enjoyed this ride a lot last year.
They didn't have a too much of a problem with late entries and I suspect that you could join without registering without too much hastle.
Take many spare innertubes though, there is quite a lot of flint on the roads around there. |

I am tempted, but couldn't find the total mileage anywhere... a bit scared by too long distances at the moment...
[edited for dumbness]
OK, I found it just at the top of the route notes and then, even bigger, at the bottom... |

I'm gonna do that one.
I've just spoken to Jim, the organiser and it's not too late for postal entries. He also gave me his email address as a back-up since Royal Mail aren't that reliable atm. |

It took me a lot longer to get round doing all the admin bits, then I got cold feet once I realised the impracticalities due to living in Tooting, etc.
My back is still shit and I'm seeing an osteopath tomorrow to get it looked at. I'll see how fit I feel on Sunday. If I go I'll be driving up. |

My cheque's been cashed but no sign of directions or brevet card and with the post strike I can't see them arriving. |

| Pretty much all of the paperwork was handed out on the day last year. You needed a confirmation number though. |

| Can you still register on the day, or is it out of question? |

So day one of the national post strike and I get more mail that at anytime during the last 3 weeks. Don't know who's covering but sack the useless bastards that are striking and get the current lot doing it!!
Anyway, I have a route and number (Brevet card on the day apparently)
oh and I have my ticket for the World Cup in Manchester on Saturday. Result! |

Well that was a very appropriate way to end summer. The first half was lovely with warm weather and a following wind just like summer, and the way back was more challenging, with a head wind and some rain thrown in, just like winter.
Nice route, only one puncture despite Tom's apprehension and only a few minor getting lost detours*
