This Friday night I am doing a 3hr endurance skate (this will be my last big training session before Le Mans) - mostly around Regents Park. Starting at midnight, finishing at 3am.
Any takers or partial takers?
If it rains, then I will postpone to Saturday night. |

I'm leading the LFNS earlier in the evening if you'd like an extra 2 hours!
Given that I'm leading LFNS already I might be up for 1 or 2 hours, but probably not the whole 3! |

If I am there, it will be mentally, not physically - willing you on. Should be pretty cool though - as I understand the roads are shut off from trafic between 12.00 and 7.00 a.m. Presume you still need to look when going through the main junctions though - as you never know. Would be interested to see how you get on.

| Sounds amazing. If I wasn't so horribly injured I'd be there in a shot. I'll see how I'm doing by Friday but the odds are slim. |

I'm entertaining the idea of heading out on the bike for some low intensity fat burning miles...what sort of intensity will you be going at?
Would any chit chat (skate related or otherwise) during the session be more of a distraction / hinderance to you? |

Hi Ed - I will be going at low intensity - i need to practice that anyways for Le Mans - particularly to resist starting off too fast.
any chatting would be welcome - no hindrance at all - if I cant chat then i am going too fast. |

In a desperate attempt to make up for my fail of training last weekend I'm thinking-
Friday- LFNS> Laps of Regent's Park> skate home.
Rest
Saturday Cycle to Richmond Park> session at Richmond> cycle Home
Party
I'm just hoping I can shake of this cold in time. |

| I am practically falling asleep at my desk today - I think the toll of working and training the last few weeks/months is starting to show. God knows how I am going to be able to skate for 3 hours when I should be sleeping!! |

funny you would say that, I am tempted by joining in, but by the time I finish the week I am going to be dead...
So I will have to make a call tomorrow, might not do the 3 hours, I guess we'll see. |

I am thinking of driving there, just because it seems more practical on the way back in particular.
I have never cycled or skated around regents park, where do you meet, and anyidea where I should park ? |

Fred at that time of the night, you should be able to find parking quite easily. I think the main road around the park will actually be closed to traffic - which is part of the reason for doing the night training there! However you should be able to park on any of the small roads leading up to the park.
We have a couple of meeting places - Glenn often parks his bike just inside the park by the Mosque on the western side, other times we meet on the southeastern corner of the park (closest to Great Portland Street tube station).
I am not really sure who is coming and when. I am planning to start around midnight and will be skating in anti-clockwise direction. so if u go clockwise you would bump into me sooner or later. In fact for people turning up at different times, that might just be the best thing - skate clockwise until you bump into oncoming skaters. |
