Dear Skater,

If you are aged 10 and over and you are skating in category 5 or above, you are invited to FISS Development and Squad training session at Birmingham Wheels Park.

Date: Saturday 16th October 2010
Training Session Time: 13:00 – 16:00
Venue: Birmingham Wheels Park

The session will also incorporate training for any skater that wishes to skate for GB at international level. This likly to be our last ourtdoor training session and due to the time of year please bring apropriate clothing and running gear.

The session will last for approximatly 3 hours please make sure you are fully prepaired for the session.

Medical Forms,

If you use Asthma Inhalers you must have a doctor’s letter, saying you take this regularly, and this should cover any other medication taken regularly.

Should you have any other medical condition or prior injury, this should be brought to the attention of the GB Coaching and selection team prior to any squad session, complete with supporting doctor’s letter.

By putting yourself forward to participate at the session, you are deeming yourself fit to skate, unless you provide a suitable doctor’s letter.

The Coaching and Selection Team reserve the right to refuse a skater to participate at the session, on the grounds of a prior medical condition or injury being a risk to the skater or others at the session.

Acceptance of the Invitation,

Please confirm receipt of this invitation and confirm that you are able to attend the sessions dated above. (the sooner you reply the better, as this will help us plan the session).

All those attending should,

· Ensure that you arrive in good time as the session will start promptly at the time specified.
· Be suitably attired for the prevailing weather conditions on the day. (i.e. Tracksuit, Trainers, Shorts, Skinsuit, & Waterproofs if necessary)
· Arrive well prepared with sufficient drinks to prevent dehydration.
· Ensure skates, bearings & wheels are clean & in good order.

Mark Simnor
FISS GB Coach & National Team Manager

All,

If you are interested, either contact Mark directly, or let me know and I will contact him.

Thanks

Gill

Thanks for the post; would be good to ask Mark if there was any plans to have any more sessions at Tatem; the last one was pretty good (not sure why more LSST members didn't attend, from recollection it was just Fred, me and Ed).

Dave and Harry were there too.  It was for Cat 1 and 2 skaters only.

I think Mark tries to split them between Tatem and Birmingham.  They seem to be quite regular at the moment, and I think that the plan is for this to continue.  Will keep you posted for future sessions.

I think Mark really appreciated having you guys at the last session, and would definitely be good to get more London skaters at the sessions.
