Congratulations Rick, you are the highest ranked member of our team in the inlinenews.de chart, as shown here:
http://62.154.244.70/inlinenews/rangliste/rank_04_action.cfm
(put 'london' in the team entry)
Maybe next year one of us will break into the top 1000! |

Wow so close at 1001. Would have made it if I hadn't crashed in Bonn. I'll get more points next year as I plan to race in Bonn, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Duisberg, Cologne and Berlin. Anyone care to join me in a blitz on the German rankings?
That has really made my day |

| Dave Kelly is in there twice - once as Dave and the other as David. Two races combined gives him 1,672.51 points ranking him third. |

Just looked at the rankings for 2005 and a few interesting snippets:
London Men
Platz Name AK Races Total
1 235 Pollock, Gavin HK 5 4.270,93
2 432 Brown, Hans HK 4 3.288,32
3 553 Fretwell, Roger AK40 4 2.835,99
4 1066 Descombes, Ray AK50 3 2.011,84
5 1595 Johnston, Alastair AK50 2 1.538,91
6 2309 Johnson, Richard AK30 2 1.271,87
7 3228 van Erp, Mike AK30 1 859,53
8 3428 Ford, David AK30 1 820,68
9 3965 Christie, Richard HK 1 762,21
10 4145 Patel, Amar AK30 1 751,08
11 5461 Quadros, Glenn AK30 1 680,40
12 6402 Whitcutt, Jon HK 1 642,96
London Women
Platz Name AK Rennen Gesamt
1 159 BETTIS, Kay AK40 4 2.944,75
2 224 Hilger, Michaela HK 3 2.483,97
3 395 Joliot, Beatrice AK30 2 1.755,57
4 667 Brown, Farhana AK30 2 1.394,39
5 1177 Potts, Natasha AK30 1 854,72
6 1963 Banyard, Katherine AK30 1 725,01
7 3467 Kennington, Erika HK 1 605,75
Perhaps most interesting is that this year we had 3 men in the top 1000, instead of 0 last year, and some very high placings for the women, so a very positive year for the club.
Also interesting to note that four of the guides from Sardinia - Patrick, Martin, Steffi and Ricky placed in the top 20. |

Looks like the ranking is based on accumulated points, so the more races you participate in there, the higher you get...
(If that's motivation enough for you to go there more often...)
Is there an equivalent site for the French rankings?
(Yes I know - JFGI and all that, but maybe someone has it saved in their bookmarks? And maybe it's just because I'm searching in English rather than Francais, but Mr Google doesn't seem to want to play ball.) |

Wow!! Cool
That's pretty good... I'm happy with that, especially since I only did 5. Will be interesting to have a closer look and see where the guys that only did 5 got to position-wise.
It's based on best 6 marathons.
Edit: top guy that did 5 marathons:
134 Schwierz, Matthias HK 5 5.190,41 |

Not sure what they base their points on per race. It doesn't seem to be age related just gender. I imagine there is some sort of weighting based on entry size or race importance but I don't know.
Still want to try and blitz it sometime with 6 races. Would like to be fit first. |

Can't seem to raise the site (I keep getting timeout errors) but if I multiply my result by six, I get 4,924.08 - which would give me quite a respectable place.
Congrats to our top-rankers, by the way! (Etienne, may we please have a thumbs-up emoticon?)
Edited to put the (y) emoticon. Etienne |

You are probably trying to access the address listed above in one of the 2004 comments - its way out of date.
The 2005 list can be accessed here. |

Y'know what? I didn't even notice that the early posts were from 2004.
Cheers for the link.
I notice that the vast majority of the top 30 are those young HK whippersnappers, though past there us AK30s / AK40s etc get a fairly good look-in. |

There's several race classes - class B 800, A, 900, Top class 1.000 points. If top ten people enter the race there's bonus points as well. base plus bonus sum up to the point value awarded to the winner.
All other skaters get points based on the formula
winner time * winner points
own time
There's no modfiers for age group, only two rankings based on gender - but there is a "position in age category" value as well (you get it if you click the name). For me that would be position 504, in class 98.
This is still a preliminary list and will supposedly be finalized later this month. |
