You may. If you want larger versions I have them an can email them just let me know which ones.
Yep, Kay did have a problem with a loose frame and walked round to the line and got my allen key to fix it. Don't know how far she walked. Lesson here is carry an allen key. |

Great day out. Fantastic surface and excellent chilled day out.
Unfortunately, I had my first racefall and ruined my brand new lsst top - but luckily at least my team mates were kind enough to wait for me. I would have hated to have had to skate by myself in that head wind.
Special thanks to Nats for organising the picnic.

Yes, that was a lot of fun. Thanks all.
Happy to have finished faster than last year (by about 35 minutes ...) but if I thought I was aching before I started it's nothing compared to how I feel now. This week I will be concentrating on the second word in the concept of "active recovery". |

Tell me about it, about 3 laps in my skates started making a bad noise ... the next 8 laps involved me praying that the axle DIDN'T come flying out .... tried to fix it while in the line and decided that was a BAD idea .... didn't want to loose Ed! & Lemming so decided to put my i-pod on an ignore it ... that worked well!! |

If you look at the results closely, you'll see that Tanya and I gained a place on that last lap (Tanya at the last split second).
An extra well done to us |

yeah I noticed I was expecting it 50/50 chance
It was a great day, and I really enjoyed it.
A proper warm up could have helped, but it didn't happen ^^
I decided to take a nice slow start, but I wasn't sure so I asked Hans who confirmed it, so I decided to play stupid and I started properly (what a surprise ^^). Then I realised I didn't know what the track was like, and even worse if I was suppose to go on the left or the right of the tyres...
After less than a lap I had a cramp on my left carve muscle (it's been a long time, I almost missed it). fortunately my teammates were nice enough not to kill me there Hans get me some energy drink and even fetch some crips (for the salt). Yeah I was running on water as I forgot to bring viper...
After 6-7 laps of pain it got better and even if this problem drained most of my strenght I managed to held on for the rest of the race.
On the last lap we were only four (hans, garan, dan and I). I was almost dead and my feet started to be painfull... so I decided to launch my secret kamikaze attack, upwind, uphill perfect timing... as expected I died after the water point, Hans was there and and Garan came back on the straight before the last turn. And we had to start the "sprint" from there .
So a good race, and I'm happy with it, as I managed not to listenned to the pain, It was a proper team race (till the very last lap obviously). Thanks to everybody for not let me down, much appreciated.
The picnic was great thanks Nat for that, the chocolate cake was great too ( I rated it 4 throwing stars out of five on my chocolate scale).
And very nice pictures Rick |

Wow, thank you all for your great feedback, I'll include it in the de-brief meeting. Could people please send us any more feedback both good and bad. Either post here or contact us through the Goodwood Roller Marathon website. Thank you |

Alex and Fede, sorry for 'dropping you', it was a case of ‘see hill, attack it’. I’m sure the One Eleven will beat that out of me though... I’ve never dropped anyone before, I’m very uncompetitive, but I thought I could keep up with Kevin for a while so I went for it.
I don’t think I would have completed it skating it on my own, so hats off to those of you who did – you are completely mad. A great showing from LSST and Tanya – what a fabulous time - Bea and Naomi, you’d better watch out!
That was one of my best marathons so far, although that headwind was viscious at times. I took about 25 minutes off last year’s time, which I am more chuffed about than a chuffed thing that’s really chuffed. My back is a little sore this morning, but that’s it injury-wise. I love my new skates and I don’t feel as wobbly on them at speed as I did on the Rollerblades, which are going in the bin tonight.
My start was rubbish, which meant that the paceline with Alan, Nina, Ray and Barbara was always tantalisingly close and I didn’t manage to catch up till the penultimate lap, and nearly threw up from the effort of doing so. I would have found it much easier had I stuck with them all along.
Many, many thanks to Kevin for some great teamwork, you helped me recover along a lot of the course and I very much hope to skate with you again before you go back to the US.
And the picnic was so much fun. You should have eaten more though, there’s loads left
PS - Rick - can you post the URL of the website on the business cards the photographer gave me? |

Well done everyone that finished in that horrid wind. I'd love to say it was a great day but alas it wasn't for me . Felt ok-ish after coming off after lap 6 and packet of Hula Hoops (thank you Rick ). Drove home ok, then took Paracetamol, collapsed in a heap and slept for 12 hours . Really cross I couldn't carry on but my body was telling me to stop. And when you get to my age you know you've got to listen.
Got some interesting lap times:
00:07:48 00:08:12 00:09:02 00:09:07 00:08:33 00:10:53
Lap 1, trying to catch up 2nd paceline (damn that stack that led to me being separated from Tanya et al!), lap 2, 3 and 4 solo too. Lap 5 shows the difference a paceline makes and lap 6 shows me dying.
Great picnic afrewards too, shame I didn't feel like eating any of your lovely food Natasha
