Hi LSST!
Just a heads up for Goodwood Roller Marathon on Sunday August 14th, in aid of NSPCC children's charity.
This will be Camberley Skaters 6th year of running the event and we've already got 600 skaters registered, so expecting it to be huger than ever this year!!! As with previous years we have a number of race distance categories including the Dual.
Good to see a good handful of LSSTers have signed up already and hope to see lots more... be aware that PRICES GO UP ON JULY 3RD so don't delay and
register!
See you there!
Cheers!
Hannah

| Please take time to watch the video they have posted on their facebook page today. There are some quite important points in it.... |

I'm looking to do this; how are people getting there? I'm likely to train it up if no lifts are going? Never gone by train before - but presume, you need to take a bike or combine for a taxi?

Also available on Youtube for people who don't do facebook: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c6HP60OaYs
Most notable point: there will be people in hivis standing in the middle of the track. Go round the outside, the inside is reserved for slower skaters |

@Glenn: train is easy, direct from Victoria. When you rock up at the station, turn left at the exit in to the car park & get cab. Make sure you get the driver's number so you can organise a cab back to the station.
Cycling it from the station would also be a nice warm up. |

| Glenn do you want to coordinate for a train? There is the 08:17 from Victoria arriving at 09:59, or the 08:30 from Waterloo arriving at 10:14 (with interchange at Havant). |

I had already booked four tickets for the 8:17 from Victoria (Southern Railways website).
Also booked the return at 18:14 (I'm doing the dual, plus can't remember how long we usually hang about until), but believe that ticket is more flexible if we wanted to leave earlier.
If we can't fit 4 in a taxi or can fit 5, happy to pool together. Otherwise, there might be some people with spaces in a car... |

just thought i'd share some Pink news...
The Skatefresh 2011 Le Mans team that was, had some wicked achievments:
Caitlin Evans and Matt Bowden finished their first marathon, pink pacelining the whole way.....
Hazel Brocken finished her Midi but then went on to finish the full distance with Caitlin and Matt (just cos she could, loving the pink paceline )
Tracy Smith completed her second Midi (her first last year) completing all but one lap again on the pink pace line. a massive confidence achievement for my girl.. Lovely
Min Zaw Mra (Skatefresh's best backwards skating client) completed the majority of his half marathon backwards. (with a little help from me)
Dinesh finished his first half marathon experience... again rocking along with the pink..
Dinesh is an LSST member and I'm hoping to coax Matt into the fold before the end of the year... great stuff..
the guys made me really proud on a day where i was feeling quite low and sorry for myself... (i posted a really strong DNF - winge-ing about my skates again LOL)
and a massive well done to
Sparky
Ed!
Tanya..
Selena (and any other LSST podiums i missed..)
plus sterling performances from
Torbaydos (Paul)
and Eliza for her first full marathon finish in 1.36...
nice |
