This looks good. According to the results it was won in 45 mins last year - so not a fast course/fast skaters but it could be fun and give an early race in the year without going to Africa.

£34 return fare on RyanAir

45min is rather slow.... 30-33min would be a pro time for a decent race. Are you sure that's not the running results for some similar race btw? I wasn't sure which results were which.

Yes it is slow - it was headed Resultados "AMB PATINS MITJAMARATO 2005 GRANOLLERS - LES FRANQUESES - LA GARRIGA" and I thought that PATINS could be skaters - but the other words could mean Geriatric Skaters skating backwards - the site is:

http://www.siesports.com/index.php?include=lista_resultats.php&id_cursa=225

Only about 60 skaters are listed - so its a small race in a town about 12 miles outside Barcelona - but it could be a fun winter break with a 13 mile skate thrown in - which you could win!

The running race was won in 1:01:33 - they look like pretty slow skaters!

Hmmm, I'm scared of the big ones and not ready yet. Might give this a try. Being Spanish should also help even though all the pages are in Catalan Wink

Los patinadores deberán circular siempre por la parte derecha de la calzada..

Something to remember for British People (use the right lane, hehe)

The running race was run by HAILE GEBRSELASSIE - who has several Olympic gold medals, and has held many world records.   The first Spanish guy finished in 1:09.

The skate race was won an unknown Spanish guy.

More a case of fast runners than slow skaters!

1:01:33 is a stonking time for a running half marathon. The "unratified" world record is 59:16. Haile G has said he is going to try to break it in 10 days time.

It's still a very slow skating time. I did a 33min half marathon in berlin if I remember correctly.

Perhaps it was wet. Still slow though. Would expect a reasonable wet time of about 36-38 mins

Hey cool, that's my Berlin half marathon time.
I could win a race in Spain. Maybe I should think about this  Laughing
