Michi and me are now registered for this one. It's one of the top 5 marathons in Germany, on a nice point-to-point course north of Hannover. Expecting up to 1500 starters. This is no running event, but an "inline-only" race!
If anybody wants to join in, cheap registration ends August 1st. I'm willing to help on that if needed. Cost: 28 EUR until 01/08, 31 until 01/09, 35 thereafter. Timing uses the standard ChampionChip. There's no online registration, has to be done on paper. |

| That's cheap. Quite a few of us will be racing Koeln though which used to be the biggest after Berlin. |

I know that several of us will be racing Cologne that day. But I expect a lot of top guys to show up in Hannover, and of course Michi will be representing LSST there - I can't because it's a regional cup race and those I race for Bremen. Also, for us Hannover is way cheaper than travelling to Cologne, which is also not licensed by the German federation. It's good to have the team show off in different places in the same day... |

It does makes us look huge but be don't get to meet up with you. On that note, I will be driving near Bremen sometime during the week after Berlin. Want to get together? I'll be doing the flaeming runde on the monday or Tuesday and in Groningen on the Friday but haven't sorted out much for the middle of the week.
Don't suppose you fancy doing the Hafencity marathon in Hamburg on the 2nd October? Right now I'm not registered as I can't enter by credit card. I can give you a lift if you can register me and maybe Kiwi Rich. |

Hopefully my knee will be healed by that time so that I can represent LSST by fast skating.
I'm really looking forward to it as it is known as a really fast track with the wind mainly in your back... |

Hamburg Hafencity marathon I'll probably decide short-noticed depending on the weather. I'd drive in from my parents' place which is just 50km away and register on the day, so no need for the lift but thanks for the offer. I'd assist in registering some people as long as it's not the entire team which might drain my bank account
Yeah, we could do something after Berlin. Maybe you could join our Bremen lot for training or so... |

| I'm sure I canmanage an extra 5€. It also means we can skip it and come back at a leisurely pace if we want to. |

Well, that was a nice race. Good and wide countryside course, headwind, otherwise great skating.
The only trouble were some roadworks on the first 2 km, so there were block starts for the fastest 300 entries, forcing both Michi (skating her first marathon) and me to start from the fitness block. Anyway, here we go with results:
Results Women:
1 Neuling, Franziska WAKT RSV Gera 01:21:58
2 Hüser, Imke (GER) WAKT Team der rollenshop.de 01:21:59
3 Kühlert, Anja (GER) W30 Team der-rollenshop.de 01:21:59
64 (12th in age cat) Hilger, Michaela (GER) WAKT LondonSkaters Speed Team 01:38:55
total 305 finishers
Results Men:
1 Pape, Markus (GER) MAKT ZEPTO Skate Team 01:10:06
2 Rubick, Clemens (GER) MAKT Powerslide RacingTeam 01:10:06
3 Atkins, Sutton (GBR) M30 Team Raps Denmark 01:10:06
156 (26th in age cat) Schüler, Merten (GER) MAKT skate-connection.de Bremen 01:29:50
total 704 finishers
Well, we're happy now Time to relax, next race due next Sunday... |

Yes, that was a really great race and I was sooooo lucky to find a paceline who had a good speed for me. Still can't believe my time...
I am really exhausted by now BUT am really looking forward to Berlin - now I have a little bit more experience. |

Nice times guys, especially for starting from the fitness block. I understand it was dry. Bonus!
Is there a link to the results somewhere so I can check on the finishers in the categories for a points calculation? |
