Rich and Tanya are now on the official entry list, so this worked last minute
This will be a big one, more than 700 skaters already.
Let's hope for good weather, I am quite dedicated to get my marathon time down this year... |

Got this in email
| Quote: |
|
I don't speak German in any useful sense, but I think it means "You're on the list. Some people have paid but not registered. If you know them, tell them to fax their forms"
If my Google-assisted guess is correct, the list is at http://www.celle.de/index_2.phtml?start=1&La=1& so if you're not on it, fax your forms ... |

| A weekend in a hotel? Don't know how you'll incorporate that into the club marathon rankings ... |

Yeah guys your're right, I've won a weekend in a hotel. Well: when I don't win something with skating I try otherwise
One cool thing about this announcement e-mail: this evening a guy called me to ask wether I would train with his team. He lives near my home town and saw my name with the town on the winning list. So he called my father to ask and then got my number in Hamburg.
Well I think two teams are enough but it was funny to receive a call saying: congratulation to your free hotel weekend, do you want to be on our team?
Maybe they just want the hotel voucher... |

Short summary of that last longish email they sent around:
- The usual disclaimers (own risk bla bla)
- Start 10 am Handbikers, then licensed men, licensed women, fitness last
- 3 hour time limit
- No warmup on the race course, but in direction of the city centre.
- Documents: Sat 10.00 - 12.30 in Celle, 14.30 - 17.00 in Hannover (Sat is recommended), Sunday 7.30 to 9.15 in Hannover
- three race numbers: Chest, left thigh, helmet (phew)
- Gear Trucks are numbered as usual
- There are signs on the course (there's only one kind of speedy left turn anyway)
- Free entry to a swimming place after the event (next to the finish line)
- Free tombola after the race.
- Buses for 2 EUR leaving in the morning Celle-Hannover 7am to 8am, going back 2pm to 4pm
Any more questions so far? |

Really just licensed? Should I try and blag my way in there, or or am I going to find other people my speed in the "fitness" block? |

| Interesting. In Duesseldorf it was licensed ladies first then licensed men and they started with, but were theoretically seperated from the fitness people. |

I'm not that rulebook-proven to give you a 100% answer, but from what I know licensed means licensed only, yeah. So the only way to get in there is probably by showing your FISS card though I could not find something that says this. There is some rule to include foreign skaters but that seems to be only for the real elite (works for Gav).
So there's two choices - you just try to get in there, or we talk this through with the organisers and see what they say. |

For those (Tanya) who go to Bremen...
It's a pretty late flight. Try to be fast in Bremen! There's a tram leaving the airport at 21:48 - line 6 direction "Universität". That'll take you to the train station ("Hauptbahnhof"). There, take RE 4437, planned track 3, leaving 22:18, arrive 23:38.
If you miss that, there is one more train RE 4439, leave 23:11, arrive 00:38.
Hope you have some Euros. Tram is 2 cash I think, train costs 17 EUR (get a "Niedersachsen Ticket single" at one of the red/blue ticket machines, pay by credit card.
Have a good journey guys. We'll probably see you Sunday early morning and then spend a good deal of the day with you Any chance somebody can bring me some stuff from Tesco's ? |

I want a dry race with south-west wind, I want a dry race with south-west wind, I want a dry race with south-west wind...
repeat it often enough and it might become true... |
