Helmet - Giro Atmos
Has anyone tried one of these had a go in the shop and thought that it looked the business and felt very comfortable. Are these descent helmets? |

They are excellent helmets. Top of the range of Giro pretty much.
I was going to get one but I thought that it made my head look a bit mushroomy I have a leaner face, and it's a wider look than the Specialised I ended up getting. |

Yeah gav is right it does make his head look mushroomy
I had one for a short while and it was for me very comfy but the specialized confidis one is better IMO if your going to spend that kind of money. the wide vent at the front does make a difference and the looks don't hurt either. I have a giro pneumo at the moment but i'm buying the confidis for next seasons racing. |

| I tried the gold Atmos on in Condor on the Gray's Inn Road. But at £50 off it's still hideously expensive. |

with them you can either buy online or go into the shop, although i would suggest going into one of their shops and trying on a few and see which suits you the best. It would help if it was comfy too though |

Lotsa longish boring discussions over the matter here.
Boils down we do crack quite a few helmets per year ; we saw two bad accidents, one helmetless and one helmeted, leading to coma followed by partial amnesia.
We also saw a number of face plants, leading to face damage ; I saw at least 5 chins being mended (sewn back ?).
Hence one of us is testing this one ; his advice will certainly be interesting ; right now a few of us believe it is the right thing to wear, only it is a bit heavier and pricier than what we currently have. Probably my choice as soon as I break my current one.

Not at £150 it isn't! If anyone finds a cheaper gold helmet, you'll be my friend for life |

Looks a little bit like "Star Wars"
But I share the experience of having seen many people with torn chins recently.
So maybe going for one of these is not too bad... is it comfortable? And what's the name of this helmet? |
