|
|
| i have three axles stuck in my bearings (one in each)! This is the second time it happens in the last couple of weeks and this is following fitting ILQ-9 bearings on my skates for Le Mans. Does anyone had this problem before? Do you think it could come from the bearings? or it is the axles that are wearing badly? I have the original bont frames / axles / spacing. Any tip welcome, B |

| Do you mean stuck as in they were tightened too much and won't unscrew? Or that they will unscrew but you can't pull them out...? |

| Thanks Gav, i managed to fix it yesterday night - with a hammer! the problem was that the axles would unscrew put i could not pull them out the bearings. so after unscrewing them i hammered each axle out of the bearing and it was done. I have re-set the original Bont bearings on my wheels and there is no more problem. my suspicion is that the Bont axles are not compatible with non Bont Bearings. i know that sounds a bit odd but that is the only thing i can think of. Have other Bont skates owners experienced a similar problem? Maybe i should purchase a new set of axles, could i get that from Blue Room? B |

| I use twincam bearings on my bont axles, no problems. Did you maybe use loctite thread compound? I know of one person who used too much, it went between the bearings, spacer, and axle, and caused them to stick together. |

I've had this problem with twincam bearings as well. The bevel on the axel gets jammed into the inner ring of the bearing.
I've had this on both a rollerblade frame and my xmax's. |

| thanks Mike, Tom, glad to hear that Tom had the exact same problem. I kept the set of bearings, maybe Twincam would be interested in hearing of the problem? Or maybe it is this particular set that is sliglty faulty? |
