A special thanks to Tanya, for the team work in the first marathon, it was great to skate with you Tanya.
I've learnt my lesson though (not about skating with you  Wink ), need to eat / drink BEFORE I run out of stream not when!!  The lines we were in together weren't too bad at all and in fact we were making a break out and up to other ones on occasions.  After a biggest downhill I ended up seperated from bea and on a line that was too fast.. I had no water left and hadn't eaten anything, when she came past i had fallen off my line and didn't have enought to hop and STAY on hers!  ended up just fading into no-mans land.. refueled and rehydrated set off again with a very pleasent bunch but wasn't really pushed until the last 20km ...

Also my body is thanking you to take me to the Bremer 3000 machines, great stuff, my legs and back are hurting but only midly! great stuff.

NATS??!?!??

My leg musles / body feels fine, still tired from last week (need some sleep) and my back, top of the legs are a little stiff but nothing worse than a normal (?) marathon.  I also enjoyed it and am looking forward to next year!  - the downhills are wicked, the ups are mean!!  and the flats are nonexistant.... i hit one real wall and struggled with cramp up the last 20k of hills.  I've found a new apprication for honey bars and rivella.

Okay, who or what is a Bremer 3000?

I feel I should be told.

a present that hans is going to buy the team (mainly cause i want one of these )

Its a magnet thing ....

The specific factors known to be involved in magnetic healing are:

Increased blood flow with increased oxygen carrying capacity
Improved circulation reduces cholesterol and calcium deposits in blood vessels,
Enzyme activities and hormone percentages are stabilized
The acid-base balance of all body fluids is maintained at ideal levels
Automatic nerve function is normalized and internal organs regain their proper function
Resistance to disease is enhanced by invigorating the immune system with magnetic waves
Magnetic waves impact the electrons inside body cells, generating warmth, which in turn reduces pain and swelling in muscles and joints.
Professional tour golfers, the majority of senior professional tour golfers, professional football players, baseball players and scores of professional athletes in every sport are greatly increasing their performance with magnetic therapy.

Not only does magnetic field therapy aid in the recovery, but it allows these conditions to heal better, more quickly and with less scar tissue. Magnetic treatment has been shown in clinical studies to increase healing time by half or more.

Magnetic energy attracts iron and other electrically charged blood particles to the area of discomfort or pain. The blood is drawn towards the magnet at an accelerated pace, which in turn, fully oxygenates the blood cells. This enriched blood supply and enhanced circulation causes blood vessels to dilate allowing the injured tissue to receive additional oxygen and nutrients, thus providing healing.

She seemed to have enjoyed it as I RAN past them, looking for the first aid tent ... thanks Dan! ... she had a big smile on her face.  Although that was combined with looking a bit like she'd just skated 111km.  (Hans looked like he'd just been on a sunday stroll  Evil or Very Mad )

Rick... dont be a bean counter. The first downhill as your name on it. Its wide, smooth, straight, long... I could so picture you ripping through it with a massive grin plastered on your face.

Well maybe as there's not much between it an Berlin, I'd have plenty of recovery time. I don't plan on doing any special training though so a fun run would be interesting. Am planning to start doing more hills anyway.

Someone must tell Hans he needn't carry the empty bottles to the finish, as there are special disposal places.

I'm just trying to figure out how they embedded the bottle under Nats's skin! Damn that must've been painful. Useful for the longer races though!

Well done everyone, great job. It looked even WETTER than last year! Ugh.. 2 years of that would've killed me. Now you all understand what I was saying about the last 20km, right??

Dan I hope you're all better soon dude. Stop falling!!
