| Hi, has anyone done this marathon before? There's a question on the entry form - do you want a bus transfer from Essen to the start? I wondered if this was the best option, or is it simpler to rely on public transport? |

| I did it 2 years ago, and tbh I have no idea... can't remember exactly where the start was. I thought it was a free bus transfer tho! |

It's a point to point race, so bus transfers might be useful. It used to have a cobbly section near the finish, this year they are rerouting the skaters to avoind that.
Michi and I might be doing this race with some more Hamburg skaters, in a kind of special way though. Can't tell much more at the moment, it's still under discussion. |

| I am going to be booking for this one. I have a reminder in my calendar to book it before the price goes up again. I am going to be there with my car so we will have somewhere to store stuff during the race. |

Karstadt, my employer is the main sponsor of this race.
If Merten ,me and some other hambug skaters donīt take part at a
special event there , I will do the marathon.
If anyone has questions about the marathon, let me know.... |

Just registered. Price goes up after 25th of this month so get booking. I also booked the bus back to the start. I will be driving to this one too ad it is another one near Duesseldorf which is very easy to get to by car. I was doing a road trip between Ddorf the week before and this one but now I am changing jobs the month before I will probably hold off on holiday until my Engadin to Hannover-Celle week. If I get others interested in a road trip then I'll definately to that. So that will be me driving to 4 marathon in 4 consecutive weekends. |

Question: you have read about our special project.
The rough idea is: skate as some kind of "Sandwich Man" - an outfit which will be given to us from Karstadt (where Mareike works). They will pay the lodging, entrance fee and a lump sum for travel.
The basic idea behind it is to do some promotion for Karstadt. This means we will start in front of the skaters and finish with the last one (roughly). So it is no race but some fun cruising around, hand out some stuff (e.g. sweets to children) and just spread the fun of skating.
We need 10 skaters for this, currently we have 4
So everyone is welcome to join our little marathon party.
Merten, Mareike: feel free to add if I forgot anything... |

ok - has anyone sorted accomodation - I'm thinking of staying at the Essener Hof in Essen - where Kay and Roger are staying -a little more expensive than usual - but at least you'd be guaranteed of a good night's sleep.
