| If you're acclimatised to it, perhaps. But I think the physiological effect of too much heat outweighs the materials science for most of us |

You would set faster time in a cooler environment I would expect, the link to body temperature has to be pretty important.
If I recall some studies done on the subject on Runners, the main component to performance was a temperature around 10 degrees or something. |

| And I think that the stripey people stuck together throughout the whole race, whereas it looks like Tristan broke away. |

Running is very different - I would have found Sunday a bit hot for running, but it was quite pleasant for skating. If you think of the big cycle races, then the riders only really start to suffer at temperatures of 35+ - and don't really slow down much then! Its just a question of going fast enough to get sufficient cooling |

Cheers Fred_Paris!
A couple of decent shots of me in there .. I had my partner taking a few pictures but unfortunately, she should have gone to spec-savers If I had to rely on my partners pics for evidence of competing, well, it would have been difficult.
If you don't mind, I'd like to use a couple of your decent shots on my web site along with my partners attempts )

Hi Conekicker,
Glad you like the pictures, I tried to get as many skaters as I could.

Hi Pamela!
Would it be pushing my welcome to ask if it's possible to forward the trophy for the Masters Cat. second place to the outlands we call Southport?
Unfortunately, my partner started feeling unwell just before the presentations so I had to leave and get her back to the hotel. Turned out she got herself a spot of sun stroke and a hell of a burn on the back of her neck. She didn't even want the bar of super delicious chocolate I had bought for her, now that is bad!
