yes, massive thanks to the organisers - it was a great - apart from the race which I absoutley hated (mainly to do with my skates though!).
I vowed I would never do it again but now that I've done it once, I have to do it at least once again to see if I can beat my (incredibly rubbish) times! |

Unsung, unpaid, but forever appreciated heroes and heroines Thank you to everyone involved with the day - I still have horrible visions of Christophe's blisters after sweeping the track in the morning!
Next year, I think it would be even better if more people, especially club members, could show their appreciation by helping the very people that they're thanking, with the organisation and running of future events.
There are so many of us, that even just the smallest of helping hands can make a mammoth list of tasks not seem so big.
Everything seemed to run so smoothly and effortlessly, but the reality is that it's hard work and unselfish committment that gets the job done.
Apologies if this sounds more like a rant...it's probably because it is one!
Happy days! |

I'll second that. We have a fairly large membership base and this is THE event of the season in terms of organisation. So every little helps!
I don't want to scare people off with pictures of my blisters though. But if all the club members could arrive on site a bit earlier and give a hand there's an awful lot to do on that day which would translate into many less tasks each for the few main organisers.
Congratulations to all who organised, helped out and raced. You're all heroes. Just watching you guys skate in that heat was hard work (kinda), I couldn't have managed w/o the support of my golf umbrella for extra shade!
Bring on next year! |

I'd just like to add my thanks to the other messages here. Thank you organisers for making my introduction to the world of inline marathon racing so enjoyable and rewarding.
I'd also like to thank all you good people here on the LSST forum that gave me tips and advice on training for and competing in the marathon.
Cheers!
