Assuming it's the same setup as previous years, expect registration from 11am and the racing to start at 12. You can register online - I just did |

I was hoping to make it up there to cheer you on and help out a bit, but the car I was going to be picking up on Saturday now isn't going to be ready, so it's unlikely I'll be able to make it at all
I hope you all have a successful and safe event! |

Erika, I will be driving from Blackfriars. If you can you get to Waterloo and I can pick you up?
Only downside, I am leaving at 08:45 to make sure I get there early to help set everything up
Let me know by this evening please as I will not log on tomorrow morning |

Just to let those members who did not come know what a fantastic event this was.
Beautiful weather again, and everything ran very smooth. Some fantastic racing. We even had some podiums!!!
Big thanks to all of you members and friends that so willingly stepped up to the mark to help out particularly with the setting up and taking down - really speeded things up!
Special mention to Erika (First Aid) Eta and Leah (Refreshments) Fred (Race Director) and of course my fellow committee members Pamela, Gill, Ed and Sol (who even in her absence helped with the food) and Maxx for 'finger in everything!' Finally Rick for trucking most of the stuff to and fro the event.
Thanks and well done!

| Great race, and great racing, as I said to the guys today, we have come a very long way in not many years. Lots of skaters in high catagories, racing hard for podiums and not crashing. Thanks to all those that made it possible, I know the amount of work involved. |

| I couldn't make this unfortunately. Would be good to get some feedback in terms of what actually happened and more specifics about how are members went. |

Gav myself and Harry H in cat 1 with most of the players. Vinne, Chris, James and Sotty A making up the first boys, with Michael MN and a resurgent Errol following on behind, then lots of others making for a long and fast paceline (I think most teams (save Belotti's 2) seem to have 3 cat 1 people now). First 3K was quiet slow to kick off, Gav made the running for a while (and paid for it) but I think James went with 4 to go and it all went off in a big way, was able to grind past the slower bits as the paceline fragmented. Didn't come last...
The second 5K was faster at the start Micheal MN went fast of the front SWF and Brum sent 2nd order people off to chase/cover but they were blown off in the end and he got almost a lap up before it went off again, I think he still came home first, more fragmentation, harder race, again didn't come last.
Last 5K was huge, lots more LSST from cat 2 swelling the numbers (but we lost Harry and I think one other SWF) Gav got a bit of a gap and Fred controlled but in the end I think they got ground past by a number of brakes, the lines got very cut up by this and in the end many people got flagged off under the "1st 4 lap you and you are off" rule. Garen looked very impressive out there and I think was may have been the last LSST person circulating (That said I can't remember where Gav was at this stage)
Cat 1 lines were fast, and perposeful and with everyone staying on their feet a nice place to skate, till someone dropped the hammer and then it all got painful. Hope it looked as good from the banking. |
