I think it was one of the better race meets I've been to for ages, nice crowd, nice weather, nice vibe, nice racing.
Considering the short lead time it was just great.
Yes I do realise if it's hard to see whats going on in one race from the inside, watching 4 from the outside will be close to impossible. |

Phew! The run up to this event seemed like everything was conspiring against it being a success, yet here we are the day after, looking back at what can only be described as a fantastic day. We even saw a British Record fall (well done Chloe Astle!) justyfying the effort to sort out the timing system.
Obviously this is never possible without the support and (very) hard work of you the members, your friends and partners and of course some of my colleagues on the committee.
I want to thank all of the members who turned up to race, primarily simply for supporting the event (after all if it were not for the racers, we would not have an event) but also for some excellent performances. Not only did we have some podiums (congratulations to Kimmo, Ghizlane, Peter and Tom. And Eugene in the RAT!) but the racing and tactics really look like they are improving and we are beginning to chip away at the other clubs!
To all of the members (and friends) who turned up not to race, but to support others. I do hope that at a meeting very soon you will be persuaded to join in but in meantime, thank you for being there, your moral and vocal support.
To everyone who was prepared to muck in erecting/taking down gazebo's, fetching water, and generally running erands. And of course donating some fantastic raffle prizes, thank you.
And finally special mention to
All FISS officials to making it possible
Christophe for running lap counter (Bl dy hot out there!)
Dan for being official club time keeper
Erika for caring First Aid (Never seen Fred look so happy )
Rick for (finally ) sorting FISS time equipment
Anneka for running the catering and being officials host for lunch
Sol (who even not there, laid on a fantastic food spread again)
Liz for the unbelievable raffle sales
Pamela and Natasha for doing virtually everything else
You members that do not come to these races really do not know what you are missing
Can't wait for June 22nd, when we can go, enjoy but not have the worries of organisation. Over to you Adrian....... |

Yesterday was brilliant with some great racing, and being on the side-line but closer to the action than normal was also a great experience. Flipping a lap-board seems easy (and it can be), unless there are 20+ skaters going round in many small groups. I may have comments or suggestions about that last race but this is not the place. Well done to all who raced, especially on another couple more podiums for the club.
And god yes was it hot out there... |

As he said, official results will be posted soonish, unfortunately Rick is now away on his Skatefresh tour of Holland and there are a couple of results that need ratifying.
Suffice it to say in the meantime Kimmo, Ghizlane, Peter and Tom all had podiums for LSST. |

Garden chairs
I took four along to the race and took 4 back. Unfortunately 2 of them were someone else's I didin't notice why they weren't stacking properly at the time and whoever's they were had already made of with my other two so the question is who has them? I would prefer to swap them back at some point so mine stack properly. Your's look like stiffer more expensive ones to me so you will probably want them back too. Let's arrange a trade..... |

| The chairs in question were borrowed from the Parks hut at Tatem and were replaced there. Think that will mean you wont be able to swap them again until the next race meeting at Tatem unless Adrian can get access key? |
