Bren, BigSteve and I have organised a van to help transport "stuff" to Le Mans.
The van will be transporting a large amount of stuff for the campsite and he pit crew this will include barbecue and cooking equipment, gazebo, tables and chairs, bass freight and asboxes.... This is for the benefit of everyone involved and we are asking that each team contribute to the cost of transporting this stuff by paying £40 per team. Can you please arrange for one person from each team to pay either Bren, BigSteev or me the money as soon as possible.
The van will also be available to help transport your own personal stuff. From past experience this is really useful for those traveling by train or by bike who don't want to be lugging a large ruck-sack and a tent all the way, but people travelling by car might also want to reduce the load and free up space to buy French stuff on the way back. We will be charging £5 per person for this.
The plan is that we will park the van outside the Vic on the Thursday night. If anyone wants us to transport their bag / tent or anything else to Le Mans, you will need to give it to us then. We won't be picking things up from where you live or where you work, and we won't be picking things up on Wednesday or Friday. If you want us to transport your stuff, you need to get it to us at the Vic on Thursday.
Also please note that we are going to be crossing borders so please please please make sure there is nothing illegal in the bags.
We are going to leave for Le Mans very early on Friday and are getting something ridiculous like the 8am ferry to France. We are hoping to get to the Le Mans track campsite mid- to late- afternoon on the Friday. On the Sunday after the race we will be leaving the track campsite almost as soon as the race is over. If you want us to transport your stuff you will need to have dismantled your tent and stowed it and anything else you want us to transport in the van. We will the then drive to the chateau campsite, where we will be staying for Sunday night.
On Monday we will be setting off fairly early (we will tell you our departure time on Sunday evening) and everything will need to be in the van again ready for us to leave. We will not be waiting around for people to stow their stuff as we will need to make our ferry and get back to London and it is a long drive.
Once we get back to London we will temporarily store your stuff somewhere in central London and you will have to come and collect it. Anything that hasn't been collected within a week or so will get binned. |
