As some of you might know, this year, I am entering the Le Mans 24hr as a solo competitor and raising money for Breakthrough Cancer Research
In essence I am hoping to skate continuously for the 24 hours (less stopping to eat, use the facilities etc expect to stop for about an hour in total) and based on the projections I should expect to lose about 5kg over the 24hr period probably damage parts of my anatomy I have not yet discovered and cover about 500km. Just be assured that your sponsorship money will be buying a copious amount of agony for me and supporting a great charity at the same time, winners all round
There are only 30 solo competitors this year, and based on last years results, it is expected that quite a few will not manage to complete the event, dropping out with heat exhaustion, dehydration, sore/worn out knees and backs as well as fatigue.... I am determined to be one of that elite number of solo finishers.
If you would like to sponsor me, please do so here https://www.bmycharity.com/V2/lemans24solo ... no amount is too small... |

Hey dude, can I stick this in the LS newsletter?

Le Mans 1st and 2nd July 2006
You may recall that LondonSkaters Speed Team is sending 5 teams to Le Mans 24 hour Rollers this year. One of those "teams" is a solo effort by Hans Brown, the nutter! He's asking for donations to charity for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. I'm personally very impressed, not only with the idea of skating solo for 24 hours, but putting that effort towards a charity. If you feel the same way, I'm sure he would appreciate a donation here:

Hey Hans, if you want to feel a bit less tough, there's apparently a dude in the Montreal 24 hours that does it solo backwards, LOL!
I still think you're a nutter! |
