John did a great advertissment job posting in May to other federations the mail you can read on that website...
Someone had the nice idea to publish that mail and even did pick-up the logo from the lim website.
You should actually have received that mail too. (I see you in Copy) |

| Yeah, we're in that edition of Fasst that they emailed us about advertising in, have it at home. It was a whole edition on marathon's.... a very interesting read actually. We were listed amongst about 15 others! |

Maybe we could scan in one or two of these articles for the site? They probably wouldn't mind too much, if we asked first and provided links to their websites.
Anything which makes it sound bigger and more 'official' is surely good for drawing overseas participants? (And maybe more Brits too, though most in the 'speed' scene here probably already know about it.) |

Looking at the winning time of last year's LIM (1:25) I'm just wondering was this considered a slow in these days of hour marathons? - if the winner had maintained his fastest (final) lap speed, he would have finished in about 1:13 - would this have been possible? I'm wondering what the lap record is.
I wonder what times LST are hoping for this year? for me I would be very happy to achieve 1:30, but I haven't taken part in one before.
By the way, I head a rumour there is a Dutch Mogema team planning on coming this year, any/other European competitors likely coming?
Hope it doesn't rain!

Yes - it was a fairly 'tactical' race for the front pack. No-one wanted the lead, so they were just cruising a lot of the time. I'm sure they would have achieved a much faster time if they had been going 'all-out' for the whole race.

I'd be aiming for under 1:30 in Berlin, but I'd be happy with 1:40 - 1:45 in the LIM. It's a bit hillier than most of the French and German courses. They're only small hills, but you need to skate them 26 times.
Still, racing on the circuit means that you'll see more of the rest of the field, and those who are slightly slower than the lead pack might be able to tag along with them for a lap or two occasionally, when they're cruising. (Applies also for the mid-field pace-lines, of course...) |
