Perhaps a silly question, but when registering, what's the difference between "Licensed" and "Recreational" event?
If I was hoping to do more marathons this year where timings have an effect (e.g. Berlin and starting blocks ), do I need to be licensed?
If so...help What exactly do I need to do? |

| Licensed is for national federation registered skaters. It's not essential to be licensed. It gets you off the medical certificate requirements for french races, might get you a different starting block in some races (eg LIM where licensed racers start in front of the recreational ones) and may also entitle you to enter the full distance events of french inline cup races. |

| If you want to get licenced in the UK, you need to join FISS (website is http://www.inlinespeed.co.uk ) |

Me and the other half too
Really looking forward to the race and the week-end in London
I fancy doing the Friday night skate too.
What's the nearest tube station?

| To the LFNS? That would be Hyde Park Corner. It's almost directly underneath the start point. |

| For those non-London based skaters that come over it would be cool to have something like a "best of London" LFNS on Friday. Maybe a bit more chilled and touring Londons sights on skates. We could include that into the adverts as well - what do you think? |

Prefer to do a chilled cruise around on Saturday afternoon. I have a standard route for this that goes past some of the great buildings of London, including Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower of London/Tower Bridge.
Lots of traverses of the Thames. I am also working on a slightly extended version which takes in the Albert Hall, Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum.
With people taking lots of photos it's not very fast so nobody will get tired from skating. Tired of waiting some times.
If anyone has any other landmarks they'd like to see I'll try and work them into the route if it's practical. |
