I'm in KL until 13th Jul.

I've been made an offer I'm probably not going to refuse:

Mpc wheels
ex firm 110/100 mm
firm 110/100 mm
stormsurge 110/100 mm

These are the old single band RoadWars not the current dual band RoadWar Turbos so probably good for training wheels.

Offer price is RM320 (~ GBP65) per set and I've already reserved two.

Anyone else want some?

I should probably add that due to luggage weight restrictions I can't carry too many back with me, so I'll limit my offer to 3 sets.

Three sets of Firm (I assume that these are softer than ex-firm) 110mm please, if no one else takes you up on the offer.  If they do, I'd like at least one set please.

I've just did an Emirates training session on my G13s and boy did I notice the difference!

Do you want money transferred into your account ahead of time?

Thank you!!!

No worries I'll only pay for them next month after I get my salary in. You can pay me back when I see you at the Tatem race on the 14th. On the starting line  Cool

Thanks - though if anyone else was after any, I'm happy to give up 2 sets.  It's a good deal for anyone after Storm Surges.

Lol - fine, but not sure you'd want to carry all that loose change on the track!

Sorry Ed, I only managed to get the last 3 sets of Firm. So I guess I'll take one and let you have two

I've also taken a set of Xfirms.

Anyone else want to place an order for storm surges or roadwar xfirm?

No problem at all - thanks very much!

How much grip do these wheels offer, specifically vs Matter whees (Juice / G13s)?

I'm thinking of using these for training at the Emirates.  I don't usually notice the different properties between wheels (apart from Storm Surges) but yesterday was the first time, and now I have a greater appreciation for it!

Ed, What do you usually skate in ? The G13s were more grippier than your training wheels ?

I think they are on par with the juice. MPC wheels do feel different though so it may take a bit of getting used to them. Defo not at the level of g13s in terms of roll and grip.

It there is room in luggage, I would love a set of 110 StormSurges.

Thanks

F.

Either relegated race wheels, or whatever I have in my cupboard Smile

I was on Bont G3s (came with my old stock boots), but switching to some Bont Highrollers now as the G3s have lost their profile (another factor that doesn't help provide grip) - I'll probably use the former for street skating.
I may have even used some Matter Juice F2s there too.  George has my set of Matter Juice F1s and I might try those when he gets back from holibobs.

I was surprised how much more confidence I had going round tight corners knowing that the wheels weren't going to slip out from under me.
Adrian's on some Matter Images, and he questions how much grip they offer round the Emirates.  That said, he's able to skate lower and lean more into turns, so I reckon his susceptibility to slipping is lower than mine.

But yeah, I had no issues with the G13s, but I can't afford for those to be training wheels!
